MCL_Flag_Red_Bkgrd.jpg Host of the Department of Alabama State Convention June 8-9 , 2012 at The Huntsville Westin            Return Convention form no later than the 13th of May with payment,if you plan to attend. WELCOME!! This the website of the Brandon-Wilbourn # 820. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Mullins Restaurant, 607 Andrew Jackson Way. Meeting starts at 1900. Our next membership meeting will be Febuary 14,2012.

The league is a veterans organization of the U.S. Marines. Its is composed of active Marines and Marines with honorable service. It aims to perpetuate the traditions and the spirit of the U.S. Marine Corps through the continuous association of Marines who served under the Globe and Anchor at any time, in war or peace.

There are Marine Corps League Detachments all across the country. Regular meetings are conducted under a unified ritual, with the Marine Corps spirit and atmosphere predominating.

The only membership qualification is honorable service in excess of 90 days in the Marines. This means that, regardless of rank held, regardless of when or where a Marine served, regardless of what division or air wing he served with, that Marine, male or female, is welcome in the Marine Corps League.

The League is classified as a veterans/ military service organization and formed for the purposes of promoting the intrest of the U. S. Marine Corps; to provide camaraderie and assistance to Marines and preserve the traditions of the U. S. Marine Corps. Its is a not for profit oranganization within thr provisions of Internal Revenue Service Code 501 (c) (4) with special group letter which allows for contributions to the Marine Corps League, it Auxiliary and subsidiary units, to be tax deductible by the donor.

A common trait of League members is the spirit of Semper Fidelis, the spirit of being "Always Faithful" to the Country, the Corps, and to their fellow Marines, inservice and out. So deep is this ingrained in members that, long after most have hung up the uniform for the last time, they still dare to call each other "Marine". Each seems to hold the League slogan as a personal truth, that of "Once a Marine - Always a Marine".
