Red Hat Society The Red Hat Society teaches us that there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. A RED HAT WELCOME FROM THE DOLLS!
Dixie Dolls are all about FUN! We started out as a group of mostly sister with a few friends, but everywhere we go, we seem to pick up new members. We currently have about 50 members. We meet AT LEAST once a month, sometimes more 'cause we can't stand to wait! We've had all sorts of adventures, and more on the way. We've had belly dancing lessons, been to a rodeo, took a weekend trip to the beach and visited a karoake bar, been bowling, to the dinner theater, we've even had a few respectable outings!Due to some personal issues, I am temporarily unable to fulfill my royal duties as Queen. Seeing that this is unfair (and no fun) for the rest of you, I've asked Princess Patty to serve as your queen until the end of the year. I plan to return to my post at that time. All hail Princess Patty!.
August - South City Theater
Friday, August 17th we will see "On Golden Pond" at the South City Theater in Saginaw, and Dairy Queen afterward for ice cream. Tickets are $15.00. I will be purchasing tickets on August 1st, and must have money by then.
September - Dinner at the Olive Garden in Alabaster
Thursday, September 13th, meet at 6:30 at Olive Garden in Alabaster for dinner. Please RSVP by Monday, September 10th so I can reserve space for us. This, of course, assumes that the Olive Garden will be open by then. If not, we'll go to Ruby Tuesdays.
October - Picnic at Oliver Park
At noon on Saturday, October 20th, picnic & lunch exchange at Oliver Park. Decorate a box to pack your lunch in, there will be a prize for the prettiest lunch box. Then, those that want to participate will get a number for their box and we'll have a lunch exchange. We'll draw numbers and you eat the lunch with your number!
November - ROAD TRIP!
On Saturday, November 17th, we'll be going on a bus trip probably to see a show in Atlanta. Details of the trip are not yet available, but will be mailed out ASAP. It will be similar to the trip to see Menopause, and in fact, we may be going to the very same theater.
December - Christmas Party
Friday, December 7th at Rolling Hills campground. We'll have dinner and games and a "White Elephant Gift Exchange". Got something around the house that you're not using? Wrap it up and "regift" it! RSVP by December 1st. Details on cost will be mailed later.

Each year, the Dixie Dolls participate in the Relay for Life. We've been among the top fund raisers for the past four years, and we hope next year is no different.
We will be looking for a new team captain for 2008. Princess Patty has been our team captain every year and is stepping down to start another team. Anyone interested, please contact Patty.
