HISTORY The Marine Corps League adopted the Young Marines as a national program at the League's National Convention in Kansas City,Missouri.The official charter was issued on October 17,1965.The official charter for the Young Marines of North Alabama was issued August 15,1996.Our unit is the only active chartered unit in the State of Alabama. The registration fee for each Recruit is $185.00 used as followed:

First issue of all ribbons earned ONLY
$20.00 Annual Insurance Fee
The only fees due there after, will be the Annual Insurance Fee due each year[Re-Registration begin Aug.1 Deadline 09-30], Quarterly Dues [$15 Quarterly], and any uniform replacement items that may be needed from normal wear and tear.
UNIFORMS
During the Boot Camp, the Recruit will be required to wear the following clothing:
Grey Sweat Pants [last name written across on bottom]
Plain White T-shirt
Grey Sweat Top [last name across back]
White Gym Socks
Running Shoes
The camp will be on Saturdays from 8AM TO 12 Noon for 8 to 10 weekends.All boot camp training will be held at the Marine Corps Reserve Training Center,3506 South Memorial Parkway.After graduation meeting day will be on Tuesdays from 5:30 PM to 7;30 PM, except Holidays and bad weather.
UNIFORMS WILL BE WORN DURING THE GRADUATION AND THEREAFTER,EXCEPT ON PHYSICAL FITNESS TRAINING DAY, THEN SWEATS WILL BE WORE..
