HISTORY The Marine Corps League adopted the Young Marines as a national program at the National Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. The official charter was issued on October 17,1965.The official charter for the North Alabama Unit was issued August 15,1996.We now have 3 active Units in Alabama. The registration fee for each Recruit is used as followed:
Utility coat
Utility trousers
Cover
Boots
Boot bands
Belt
Patches
Young Marine Handbook
Name tags made and sewn on
First issue of all ribbons earned ONLY
$20.00 Annual Insurance Fee
The only fees due there after, will be the Annual Insurance Fee due each year[Re-Registration begin Aug.1 Deadline 09-30], Quarterly Dues [$15 Quarterly], and any uniform replacement items that may be needed from normal wear and tear. Make check payable to YOUNG MARINES OF NORTH ALABAMA. Will accept cash.
UNIFORMS
During training, the Recruit will be required to wear the following clothing:
Shorts
Plain White T-shirt
White Gym Socks
Running Shoes
.All training will be held at the Marine Corps Reserve Training Center,3506 South Memorial Parkway.
UNIFORMS WILL BE WORN DURING THE GRADUATION AND THEREAFTER,EXCEPT ON PHYSICAL FITNESS TRAINING DAY, THEN SWEATS WILL BE WORE..
