DEC. 26,2003 TRIXIE FOUND A HOME BUT THE ENDING MAY NOT BE SO SWEET PLEASE READ BELOW, HERE IS CONTACT INFO IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION TO HELP LOCATE TRIXIE : rosment@cox-internet.com
Hi ,
I wanted to let you know that Trixie has been placed, but the ending isn't as good as we had hoped it would be. Two weeks ago, a nice family in North Little Rock adopted her and took her home with them. They had a fenced in backyard, and they put her in the backyard during the day and brought her in at night to sleep. I stopped in to check on her a few days after placing her there and she was in the house during the day, just laying in front of their fireplace. I thought she had found a great place, since this family didn't have any other pets.... so there was no danger of her attacking other animals.
This evening I got a call from them saying that Trixie "ran away" 4 days after they adopted her. They say she dug a hole under the fence and ran off, and that her collar was snagged on the underneath of the fence and so she didn't even have a collar on. I drove out there this evening and put a few things up, but at this point-- in that neighborhood-- I am doubting she will be found. I called NLR Animal Control and they claim that they haven't seen her. However, there have been 3 yellow dogs hit by cars in the vicinity of where she might have would up. Those bodies have already been destroyed.
I feel really terrible about this, I feel like I let her down. Her new family seems very heartbroken and sincere, but I just wish they would have called me sooner to let me know. If we could have all worked together when she first ran, we would have had a better chance of finding her.
Thanks for taking the time to include Trixie on your website. If something changes and we happen to find her, I'll let you know--- otherwise, if you want to remove her from your site to free up room I understand. You have been truly wonderful and I appreciate your help so much. This has been such a hard thing for everyone, including Trixie, and you have been so kind and understanding. Thanks for doing your best to help us.
