    But Now I Am Found
    I love Lakota!

    "Thank You, Lord!"

    "Behold, for peace I had great bitterness:
    but Thou hast in love to my soul
    delivered it from the pit of corruption:
    for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back."
    Isaiah 38:17

    If your child were kidnapped,
    you wouldn't care what he looked like,
    how long he'd been gone,
    or what had happened to him while he was away from you.
    You would just want him back,
    to grab him up and hold him forever,
    just like he'd never been gone.
    That is how God feels about you.
    You were kidnapped by
    this sinful world when you were born.
    You have been through some bad times.
    The sinful life that kidnapped you has hurt you,
    made you do things you didn't want to do,
    but your Father, God, wants His child back, NOW,
    no matter what shape you are in.
    It is time to come back to God,
    who has been waiting with open arms to hold you,
    to give you all the love that you deserve.
    At Mission Point Missionary Baptist Church,
    we want to get you back to your Father.
    We were all "kidnapped" by sin,
    but now we are back with God,
    and it's time for you to come back too.
    God is waiting for YOU,
    with arms full of love,
    just for YOU!

    Just ask...
    If you want God in your life right now,
    just tell Him.
    Talk to Him as though
    He were sitting right next to you.
    It doesn't have to be fancy,
    just tell Him what you need,
    what you want,
    what you feel.
    Here is a sample prayer,
    in case you're not sure what to say.
    No matter how you say it,
    God will understand you.
    He knows your heart, and your mind.
    He knows all about you.

    ~~~Sample Prayer~~~
    "Lord, I am so tired of living like this.
    I need something more than what I have now.
    Please help me,
    heal me,
    make my life better.
    I want to come back to You,
    I want to live for You.
    I love You, God,
    and I thank You for sending Jesus to live,
    and die,
    for my sins.
    Forgive me,
    love me,
    let me be Your child again.
    I need to feel loved and cared for.
    Thank You Lord,
    In Jesus' name,
    Amen."
    Scriptures
    "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;
    and before thou camest forth out of the womb
    I sanctified thee,
    and I ordained thee a prophet
    unto the nations." Jeremiah 1:15
    "One thing have I desired of the LORD,
    that will I seek after;
    that I may dwell in the
    house of the LORD all the days of my life,
    to behold the beauty of the LORD,
    and to enquire in his temple."
    Psalms 27:4
    "Surely goodness and mercy
    shall follow me all the days of my life:
    and I will dwell in the
    house of the LORD for ever."
    Psalms 23:6
    "For I am poor and needy,
    and my heart is wounded within me."
    Psalms 109:22
    'For God sent not his Son into the world
    to condemn the world;
    but that the world through Him might be saved."
    John 3:17
    'Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
    "I am the light of the world:
    he that followeth Me
    shall not walk in darkness,
    but shall have the light of life." John 8:12
    You Are Worth Something
    Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
    for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
    but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us
    with groanings which cannot be uttered.
    Romans 8:26
    This scripture covers so many bases.
    Romans 8:26 is not just about being unsure about
    your prayers, and how to pray.
    This scripture lets you know that
    no matter how messed up your mind is,
    how confused and troubled you are,
    how stressed out or even how high or drunk you are,
    if something inside of you is crying out for help,
    crying out to God,
    the Spirit will know this
    and the Spirit will pray for you.
    The Holy Spirit will make intercession for you
    and speak to God for you,
    because you are not quite in the frame of mind to form a prayer,
    but you are worth praying for!
    Worth.....
    You are worth praying for.
    You are worth so much to God that
    He gave you a 'substitute' to take over praying
    when you are so hurt
    that you cannot even voice a prayer.
    How beautiful is that?
    When you feel that you are too nasty,
    too sinful, too filthy,
    God thinks you are worth something.
    When you are crying, and you think that maybe, just maybe,
    the world would be better off if you were not in it,
    that Holy Spirit kicks in and says,
    "Hey, God, We need You down here! Help!"
    The spirit will pray that God will
    send you strength so that you can make it another day,
    another week,
    another year.
    Because you are worth it.
    If Jesus were here right now....
    He would be eating dinner and hanging out with YOU,
    not with the "religious people".
    Actually, Jesus is here right now,
    He is right there with you,
    just waiting for you to talk to Him, waiting for you to
    tell Him what you want, and need, Him to do.
    Talk to Him right now, don't worry about what to say
    or how to say it,
    just say it!
    ***Sample Prayer***
    Dear Lord,
    "I feel like my life is falling apart, and I can take it anymore!
    Please come into my life and take over, because I give up,
    I just can't do this alone anymore.
    I need help.
    Lord, I want to live for you.
    I don't know if I can be
    what You want me to be,
    but I want to try.
    Help me, forgive me,
    and help me forgive myself
    when I make mistakes.
    I love You, Jesus,
    thank You for loving me!
    Amen
     Scriptures for
    "You Are Worth Something"
    Ye are bought with a price;
    be not ye the servants of men.
    For God so loved the world,
    that he gave his only begotten Son,
    that whosoever believeth in him
    should not perish,
    but have
    everlasting life.
    For God sent not his Son into the world
    to condemn the world;
    but that the world through Him
    might be saved.
    John 3:16-17
    If the Son therefore
    shall make you free,
    ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36
    Therefore if any man be in Christ,
    he is a new creature:
    old things are passed away;
    behold, all things are become new.
    2 Corinthians 5:17
    As far as the
    east is from the west,
    so far hath he removed our
    transgressions from us.
    Psalm 103:12
    Behold,
    for peace I had great bitterness:
    but thou hast in love to my soul
    delivered it from the pit of corruption:
    for thou hast cast all my sins
    behind thy back.
    Isaiah 38:17
    And when the scribes and Pharisees
    saw Him eat with publicans and sinners,
    they said unto his disciples,
    "How is it that he eateth and drinketh
    with publicans and sinners?"
    When Jesus heard it,
    He saith unto them,
    "They that are whole
    have no need of the physician,
    but they that are sick:
    I came not to call the righteous,
    but sinners to repentance."
    Mark 2: 16-17
    Come unto me,
    all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
    and I will give you rest.
    Take my yoke upon you,
    and learn of me;
    for I am meek and lowly in heart:
    and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
    For my yoke is easy,
    and my burden is light.
    Matthew 11:28-30
    Then spake Jesus
    again unto them, saying,
    I am the light of the world:
    he that followeth me
    shall not walk in darkness,
    but shall have the light of life.
    John 8:12
    If I'd Only Known....
    But He was wounded for our transgressions,
    He was bruised for our iniquities:
    the chastisement of our peace was upon Him;
    and with His stripes we are healed.
    All we like sheep have gone astray;
    we have turned every one to his own way;
    and the Lord hath laid on Him
    the iniquity of us all.
    Isaiah 53:5-6
    How many times in life have we said
    "Oh, if I'd only known...?"
    How different would our lives be if we had known
    the outcome of our decisions?
    Would we have changed our lives for the good,
    or for the worse,
    with just a decision?
    Jesus knew the outcome of His decisions,
    yet He continued to live out His life in a manner
    that led to His arrest, beating,
    death and His ressurection.
    What if Jesus had decided to say
    "Hey, this isn't going to end so well for me,
    I don't want to make this choice,
    how will My death help the whole world right now?
    I'll settle down, get married, have a family,
    then when I'm old, I will die."
    Of course, He knew He had to die at that time
    of His life in order for God's plan to come about,
    but can you imagine the world now if
    Jesus had decided NOT to die right then?
    No stripes for our healing,
    because He wouldn't have been beaten.
    No blood and water from His side,
    because He wouldn't have been stabbed in the side.
    No earthquake ripping the veil in the Temple,
    because He wouldn't have hung, bled
    and died on the Cross.
    If Jesus had lived to be an old man,
    then just died in His sleep one night,
    we would still be sacrificing lambs.....
    well, no we wouldn't.
    We would probably not even know there was a God in Heaven,
    or a Jesus that was born of a virgin.....
    Jesus' story, and the New Testament as we know it now,
    wouldn't even had been written.
    Why would someone write about an old man who said
    He was the Savior of the world,
    but didn't shed a drop of blood for anyone?
    continued on right column
     If I'd Only Known (continued)
    We wouldn't have Easter, nor Christmas,
    and we would never had heard of
    Jesus the Christ.
    And He went forward a little,
    and fell on the ground,
    and prayed that, if it were possible,
    the hour might pass from Him.
    And He said,
    "Abba, Father,
    all things are possible unto thee;
    take away this cup from Me:
    nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt."
    Mark 14:35-36
    Jesus was sorrowful that He had to
    die right then, and He did pray for God
    to change His mind, but then He realized
    the cost of that decision, and said
    "Nevertheless, not what I will,
    but as Thou wilt."
    Because He knew it was time for
    God's plan to be carried out.
    Every Easter-every Christmas-every day
    we need to really, really think about the life
    Jesus led and the choices He made.
    He truly let God direct His life,
    He truly sacrificed for our salvation.
    His death and resurrection are the reason
    we are all here,
    the reason we can all hear His words,
    choose Him as our Savior,
    and make it to Heaven when we die.
    Jesus died so that our lives
    would not be in vain, because He knew His death
    was not in vain.
    And being found in fashion as a man,
    He humbled Himself,
    and became obedient unto death,
    even the death of the cross.
    Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,
    and given him a name which is above every name:
    That at the name of Jesus
    every knee should bow, of things in heaven,
    and things in earth,
    and things under the earth;
    And that every tongue should confess
    that Jesus Christ is Lord,
    to the glory of God the Father.
    Phillipians 2:8-11
    Ezekiel's Wife:
    "Also the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
    Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke:
    yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
    Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead,
    bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet,
    and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
    So I spake unto the people in the morning:
    and at even my wife died;
    and I did in the morning as I was commanded."
    Ezekiel 24:15-18 KJV
    Preacher's wives.
    Pastor's wives.
    The most watched, the most judged and also the most ignored woman in the entire church.
    I see it in the eyes of the pastor's wives that I meet,
    the hurt, the distrust, the past betrayal. I see them summing me up, wondering if I am gonna be
    one of the "good guys" or one of the "bad guys". And if you don't understand what I mean, it's ok, it's a "preacher's wife thang".
    We know what it means.
    It's not a subject we openly talk about either, because each and every one of us value our privacy,
    we respect and love our husbands, we protect and are devoted
    to our church family, but most of all, we love God and we trust Him to fight and win our battles for us.
    When I read this part of Ezekiel, I saw this woman as a great woman of God.
    Ezekiel thought she was the greatest also, because God even called her "The desire of Ezekiel's eyes".
    You know Ezekiel loved her, dearly. In verse 25, God compared the city of Jerusalem
    to how Ezekiel felt about his wife, "in the day when I take from them their strength,
    the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds"|
    Ezekiel's wife was everything to him, God was first, then his wife.
    She was the strength and joy of his glory, she was the desire of his eyes,
    she was what he put his whole mind upon, his every thought was of her, even when he was thinking of God, he was thinking of his beloved.
    She was a powerful tool in his ministry. You never hear of her before now, but she was his strength,
    she was who he would lay down with at night, she was who cooked his meals,
    who rubbed his forehead as he told her about his day, she was the arms that held him when he
    fell asleep after he had been awake for days, ministering to a stubborn people.
    And then God took her in order to prove a point to Jerusalem, and told Ezekiel not to mourn for her.
    No longer would Ezekiel have the comfort of his wife's presence, the touch of her gentle hands,
    the soft look in her eyes telling him that everything was going to be ok. He would no longer be able to
    hold her, to make love with her, to whisper "I love you, baby, thanks for being there for me."
    Ezekiel didn't even get to spend the day with her before God took her home. But he kept going.
    Because Ezekiel knew that one day, he would go to heaven, and his beloved wife would be there, saying
    "Welcome home, baby, I sure have missed you!"
    You know this woman sacrificed her life for her husband's ministry, she made the ultimate sacrifice,
    she gave her life. Her life was given up in order to make a point to a group of people
    who didn't really even care about her or her husband. She made sacrifices before then too,
    because Ezekiel would be gone for days doing what he did for God. She would stay home, tending the place,
    knowing that God would bring her man home, eventually, and she would be waiting patiently,
    ready to listen to his exploits while she fixed his supper and washed his laundry,
    knowing that the next day, God may send her man out again.
    I just felt the need to recognize the wives, the women who walk beside, (and stand behind) the men of God.
    When "The Preacher" gets up behind the pulpit, we all need to realize that the woman
    sitting in the congregation and smiling up at her man has been there with him through all the hard times,
    raised his children, taught Sunday School when nobody else would, played music and sang
    when nobody else could, stayed up all night and listened to sermons when her husband had nobody else to preach to.....
    many, many sacrifices and loving duties that she never, ever receives an accolade for.
    Give a preacher's wife a hug, and let her know she is appreciated.
    Then get out of her way, cause she's a busy, busy woman, and has things to do!
