For troops deployed to Afghanistan 12-4-07.

The temperatures in the mountains where this unit will be based reach low temperatures in the minus-50-degree range, with heavy snow. They would be very grateful to receive any of the following items:

• Black Watch Caps (knitted or crocheted - no brims)
• Black Headbands (knitted or crocheted)
• Black Dickeys (knitted or crocheted)
• Black Helmets (knitted or crocheted)
• Black Wristlets (knitted or crocheted)
• Any Color Slippers (knitted or crocheted - see patterns/guidelines)

Please deliver any completed items to Alley-White American Legion Auxiliary Unit 52 at 717 Market Street, Mountain Home, AR. The building is routinely open from 11:00am-4:00pm on Tuesdays, 3:30-8:30pm on Fridays, and 9:00-10:30am on Saturdays. If these times are not convenient, please contact the acting chairman by e-mail (at left) or by phone (870-424-6235) to make other arrangements.

Donations of yarn or money also appreciated! All funds received will be used to purchase supplies and/or ship packages to deployed troops in need of these handmade comfort items.
