Lockeroom advances to
semifinals in Springfield tournament The Lockeroom's fortunes continue in the Springfield Holiday Invitational tournament. The American Legion baseball team from Mountain Home defeated Springfield Parkview 7-2. Nathan Roberts was the winning pitcher. Cody Woodhouse led the Lockeroom offense with two hits and two RBIs. Joey Morgan and Dakota Melton each had two base hits, with Morgan adding an RBI. With the victory, Mountain Home moves on to the semifinals where they will face Blue Spring. Gametime is set for four p.m. at Meador Park. |
MH wins pair in
Springfield tourney The Mountain Home Lockeroom won its first two games of the Springfield, Mo., Holiday Tournament with a 9-5 win over Miller, Mo., Wednesday and a 7-2 victory over Springfield Parkview on Thursday. Mountain Home (12-9-2) now advances to the semifinals of the winner's bracket where they face Blue Springs, Mo., at 4 p.m. today. |

opening game in Springfield tournament The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team began play in the Springfield Holiday Invitational Tournament on a positive note. In Wednesday's game in Nixa, the Lockeroom topped Miller, Missouri, by a score of 9-5. Cody Woodhouse was the winner after pitching a complete game. Chad Smith led the Mountain Home offense with two hits and three RBIs. In addition, Joey Morgan and Justin Hawkins had two base hits each. The Lockeroom's next game in the tournament will be today at four p.m. Mountain Home will face Springfield Parkview in Nixa. |

with Paragould The Hopper Termite Exterminators junior legion baseball team split a pair of games at Paragould Monday. ... The Exterminators are back in action this weekend. At 2 p.m. Saturday, they host West Memphis for another conference contest, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, they host Wynne at Cooper Park. |

Exterminators fall to Batesville It was a real one-sided affair in yesterday's American Legion baseball action at Cooper Park. Hopper Termite Exterminators sponsored by Hopper Environmental Services remain winless in conference play as they fell to Batesville 11-1. Cody Spencer took the loss after pitching 3 2/3 innings and giving up eight hits. Bo Thomas and Brett Rorie led the Mountain Home offense with two hits each. Hopper Termite Exterminators' next game will be Saturday as they host West Memphis for the season finale. |

competes in Springfield tournament The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team will travel across state lines as they return to action today. The Lockeroom will compete in the Springfield Holiday Classic this afternoon. Mountain Home's first game will be in Nixa. |
MH picks up league
win The Mountain Home Lockeroom improved its mark to 10-9-2 on the season with a 10-7 conference win at Searcy Monday. Besides climbing above the .500 mark, Mountain Home improved to 2-3 in conference play with the win. |

Exterminators host Batesville tonight Today is another day of American Legion baseball in the Twin Lakes area. Hopper Termite Exterminators sponsored by Hopper Environmental Services will host Batesville this evening. The game is set to get underway at five p.m. at Cooper Park. |

Friday's
baseball results There was plenty of baseball action Friday around the Twin Lakes area. One of Mountain Home's American Legion baseball teams traveled just across state lines. Hopper Termite Exterminators sponsored by Hopper Environmental Services split a pair of games with West Plains. Mountain Home won the first game 12-6. Bo Thomas pitched a complete game, struck out four batters, and gave up three walks to pick up the victory. Eli Barrow led the offense with two hits and three RBIs. Hopper Termite Exterminators were not as fortunate in the second game they fell 7-5 to West Plains. Josh Zorman was the losing pitcher for Mountain Home. Dakota Ornelas and Jared Lancaster each provided a hit and an RBI. The Mountain Home 10-year-old Cal Ripken baseball team began play in the district tournament at Izard County Consolidated with a 10-0 shutout over Tri-County North. With the victory, Mountain Home moves on to the semifinals today at one p.m. to face Batesville. |

doubleheader The Mountain Home Lockeroom came just one run shy of a conference sweep Tuesday night at Batesville. The Lockeroom (9-9-1) posted a 7-3 win over Batesville in the first game and almost overcame a 13-6, seventh-inning deficit in the second game before falling 13-12. |

Errors doom Hopper
Legion team in loss at Batesville The Mountain Home Hopper Termite American Legion baseball team dropped a pair of games on the road at Batesville last night. Mountain Home committed 13 errors in the first game, allowing Batesville to win 21-6. In the second game, Batesville topped Hopper 3-2. Jacob Luther went two for two. The Mountain Home Hopper Termite team will play at West Plains tomorrow night and then they host Searcy Saturday afternoon. |

double header at Batesville The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team went to Batesville last night where they split a double header. Mountain Home won the conference game 7-3. Nathan Roberts was the winning pitcher, moving his record to 4-2 on the season. At the plate, Chase Duggins had three hits and three RBI and James Holder and Justin Hawkins both had two hits. In the second game, Batesville edged the Lockeroom 13-12. Mountain Home scored six runs in the seventh inning but came up one run short. Cody Woodhouse led the offense with three hits and five runs batted in. The Lockeroom is 9-9-1 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. They return to action Saturday at West Memphis. |
