Volunteers Needed in the Following Areas :

Phoenix Social/Support Group :

I am currently searching for members to assist me in planning events for the social group. Assistance is mostly needed in the west valley and Central Phoenix locations.
In addition, I am looking for a social worker or counselor to donate time to run a formal chronic illness support group during the afternoons, once a month.

Education and Community Workshops :

I am currently looking for those interested in assisting me with educating community groups and others about chronic illness. Personal experience as a patient or some health background is preferred. In person workshops are provided in Phoenix area. Online workshops are provided across the country.

Resources Directory :

I am looking for others to help put together a comprehensive directory to chronic illness services, including support groups, organizations, specialists, etc. This involves basic internet research, the ability to organize information and possibly making some phone calls to obtain current information about the services and make sure they are up to date. This directory will eventually be given out to all members of the network. It will be a huge collaborative undertaking by more than one person. If you like internet research and fact finding, this is a great opportunity for you to get involved!


Peer Counselors/ Mentors :

We are looking for peer counselors, i.e. those experienced with chronic illness to serve as mentors/counselor (online or phone) for the newly diagnosed or those struggling to manage their illness.

Advertising/Fundraising :

I am looking for others to assist with with getting the word out about our group by writing news releases, assisting with advertisements, fundraising, and marketing.

Desktop Publishing/Marketing Materials :

Do you have a flair for design? Can you develop professional looking websites, brochures, flyers, etc. I am looking for someone to help develop various marketing materials to establish our presence as a professional organization. I would like to have these done by the end of March, as I will be attending a health fair then and will need to distribute these, as well as cards with a professional website.

Grant Writing/Assistance with 501(c)(3) non profit application process. : I am looking for others to assist with grant writing to help develop this group into an 501 c3 non profit organization. Also looking for those who can locate strong sources for funding. Grantwriting and fundraising experience preferred.
