A great BIG thank you to Queen Lady Elaine for an outstanding job bringing together 70 ladies from across the State of Arizona for our October 2007 Gathering.
Queen Betty Ferrari of the Scarlet Chapeaus is in charge of the January Luncheon. She has been trying to locate a suitable facility in the Northwest side of Tucson for our January luncheon. The original restaurant suggested, Carrabbas, could accommodate 70, but the set up would be similar to that of Macaroni Grill in that we would be in a corner of the main dining room but noisy due to the fact that the tables actually are adjacent to their open kitchen!!! They do not have a separate banquet room. She also checked into Metro Grill but they can only accommodate 60 with no room for vendors. We hoped to invite a couple small ones for you to enjoy. She spoke with the manager at El Molinito on Pantano and Wrightstown and they would have no problem accommodating 70 or more with plenty of room for 3 vendors. They will also do separate checks. She eats there often and have found they have a good kitchen and wait staff. We realize this is on the northeast side of town, but it is readily accessible. Those traveling down on I 10 from points north, would simply get off the interstate at Ina and travel east (it becomes Sunrise) to Kolb, then Tanque Verde to Pantano/Wrightstown. Similar for those from points south. They would only need to take I 19 to Valencia, north on Kolb to Tanque Verde to Pantano/Wrightstown. Relatively easy to get to - it only involves at little more time on surface streets. So, here is where we are at. We either go to the Northeast this time and try for the northwest next time OR you guys get involved and help us find a Northwest facility. Ideas is all we need right now. Betty can make the calls. We need a facility that can handle at least 70, possibly more. We would like to be able to have our own space as it was difficult for everyone to hear me during announcements last time. And, we hoped to have a few small vendors this next time. Write back withy our ideas. Queen Lady Elaine
