July 24th & 25th 7:00AM to Noon
Bring your favorite guns and have fun!

New Club year begins July 1

With the summer comes club dues time. Just as last year, member dues are $25 for the 04-05 club year. New this year is the family membership. For $50, an entire family can join. This includes parents and immediate family members under 18 years old and living under the same roof.

If you are not a current club member, there is an application available for download on the club home page. If you would like to join for the upcoming club year, please fill it out.

Dues can be paid in person at a meeting or sent to the club mailing address found above.

From The President

Dear Club Member,

Last year at this time, things did not look very promising for the club. We had lost access to the shooting range and were forced to cancel our big fund raiser (The Running Deer Shoot).

What a difference a year makes. We now manage the range for the county and the public is getting to use it. Interest in the range is growing and our club membership is increasing. So much so that we now have someone to just handle membership questions and applications. That person is Mike Abramovich. By the way, the club now has a website as well as one for the range.

With our managing the range the benefits of club membership are increasing as are the opportunities for service. It takes a lot of people to keep the range up and running as a clean and safe place to shoot. You can help by becoming a certified Range Safety Officer, working the admission table, or just by helping clean up on a work day. As far as the benefits go, we are having members only days at the range as well as getting to shoot for free on the public days if there is space available.

This is an exciting time in the life of our club. Please be a part of it by sending in your dues in the envelope provided with this newsletter. I look forward to seeing you at the range and the clubhouse.

Dan Bauer

Hunter Education Class offered

The upcoming Hunter Education class will be held on Tuedays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The dates will be September 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, 28-30. The range day for the class will be September 25th, from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. It will most likely be held at the First Southern Baptist Church in Buckeye. The cost for the class will be $8. Stay tuned to the club website for more information.

Running Deer Shoot

The annual shoot will be held on October 24th, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. For $3 the shooter will get 5 shots standing, offhand at a moving deer target approximately 100 yards away. The jackpot shoot will cost $5 and will be standing, offhand at a bulls eye target 100 yards away. Please only plan on using a hunting rifle chambered in a hunting caliber. No military or target rifles to stay in the spirit of the competition. There will be prizes, food and lots of fun. This fundraiser will help pay our taxes and insurance. Be there!

Safety
Please remember that it is everyone's responsibilty for safety on the range. If you see something done improperly, you need to say something.
Please be reminded that membership badges must be worn at all times when using the Club facilities.
