 Our Founder and Organizers

OUR FOUNDER AND LEADER
Our founder and leader, Nancy, recently moved here from NY a year and a half ago with her husband and kitties. She moved to Arizona, needing a warm dry climate due to a chronic illness, which she has been living with for 15 years.
When moving to Arizona, she left behind friends and family and found it difficult to meet others who understand chronic illness. She felt the need to socialize, especially during the weekday afternoons, since she was out of work and no longer had that social outlet. Therefore, she decided to start this group in hopes of meeting others with chronic illness and bringing them together for socialization and support.
Her professional background is in health education and social services. She has had graduate training in both public health and social work. In addition to her work with the chronically ill and persons with various other disabilities, she has done freelance writing for a chronic illness magazine and is currently a contributing editor/writer for medpedia.com, an upcoming collaborative medical website. Her most recent and most passionate project is beginning to work on a comprehensive non profit organization dedicated to misunderstood and hard to diagnose chronic illnesses. To learn more about her project or to become involved, please visit her site at Chronic Illness Frontiers
WEST VALLEY ORGANIZERS:
Our west valley organizer is Debbie. She can be contacted through our membership site. She organizes most of the luncheons on the west side and takes rsvp's, etc. She welcomes input from members for changes in restaurant, etc. A special thanks for her help with assisting our west valley members!!! Mickey also has been helping with organizing west valley luncheons when Debbie is unavailable. A special thanks to Mickey as well!!
EAST VALLEY ORGANIZERS
Our east valley members have decided to switch organizers each month, as well as restaurants/locations so the responsibility does not rest on one person's shoulders. Along with our group leader, Nancy, who lives in the east valley, Cheryl often assist with planning our east valley luncheons. They can also be reached through our membership site. A huge thanks to all of them for getting our east valley members together and making our luncheons so much fun!!
