Welcome to the Arizona J-pouch Support Group Website

This website is an attempt to join in support of the persons living in Arizona who have been affected by either ulcerative colitis, or other disease that has led to surgical intervention, and an ostomy or ileo-anal pouch. Family and friends are welcome here as well, as they make up an individual's immeadiate support group; and the purpose of this website and the Arizona support group is extend an individual's support group to include others and their immeadiate support systems. Thus having a network of support in the state of Arizona.

We are all friends here, and as such help each other and support each other, as we each individually deal with our own health conditions, and situations. As an extension of support, we feel that the unity provided by the support group helps bolster the spirit of those suffering, and let's them know that they are not alone in their struggle. That in fact, there are others who are going through simular battles, and have learned to accept and cope with their situations.

It has been said before, "We do not have to like it, but we do have to learn to live with it." So, together we will all learn from each other, as we travel this journey of life that we have been selected to participate in. So, let's go forward with the help of God, and together in a spirit of unity and support for our fellow "man".

GIVE YOUR INPUT....GET INVOLVED!  We welcome all to participate in making the Arizona J-pouch Support Group a group that you will feel proud to be a part of. Therefore, we are open to suggestions, and your input in making it a support group that represents the views and concerns of everyone involved. We will be holding monthly meetings, and will be planning fun activities for members to participate in within the near future. So, come on! Give your input, and get involved!

MEETING PLACE
Through the help of Pastor John & Sandy Stevens, we have been given the opportunity to hold our meetings at Sweetwater Church of the Valley. The church is located on 43rd Avenue, just north of Thunderbird Rd. Near the ASU West Campus.
WHAT NIGHT IS BEST FOR YOU?
Located under the links section is a link for the message board. What I am asking is for your input to what night of the week would be best for the majority number of people to attend. If you could please visit the message board and record your comments there it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Support Group Age
This is to let you know that this support group is not just a bunch of "old-timers". We welcome people with any type of ostomy, and any age. We know that some of the ostomy support groups are full of people who are from the "older" crowd, and want to let you know that I am only 38 myself, and Kris the co-founder is in his 20's. So, don't be put off thinking that it is just a bunch of old people who have this ailment. We want to be open to the younger crowd, without alienating any of the older members. So don't be put off by age. Let's all share and learn from each other!
  JoyfulNoise Ministries
Under the links column is the listing of Pastor John & Sandy Stevens. Pastor Stevens and his wife Sandy are real special people, who have a missionary ministry to Central America by the name of JoyfulNoise Ministries. They also teach a couples class that meets at Sweetwater Church in Glendale, also the location of where we will be holding the group meetings. For more information about JoyfulNoise Ministries click on their link.

Prayer & Inspiration
In addition to JoyfulNoise Ministries link, listed under the links section in the right hand column, is a link for prayer and inspiration. If you click on the link it will take you to another website. In that website under the Meditational Link, you can submit a prayer request for yourself, or for a loved one who may be dealing with the issues that we provide support for at Arizona J-pouch Support Group. So, give it a click.
