WHAT IS A.L.L.E.C.A.?
The ALLECA program in Arizona is one of only 15 such programs in the United States that are geared toward those individual teenagers who have shown an interest in some phase of law enforcement. This is one of the many "Children and Youth" programs that are sponsored by The American Legion. The program normally consists of an eight day encampment held at the Arizona Army National Guard site (Camp Navajo) 10 miles west of Flagstaff. The encampment is under the direct leadership of the Arizona Department of Public Safety with most of the instruction being provided by certified Arizona or Federal law enforcement officers. The ALLECA encampment for 2008, however, will be held at a different location because Camp Navajo will not be available.
This program is dedicated to the memory of three Legionnaires who have made it one of the best such programs in the United States; Leonard "Mac" McCulloch, James Kirk and John Mulhorn. |

2009 ALLECA Class Dates & Location For 2009, the ALLECA encampment will be held at Emmanuel Pines Camp outside of Prescott. This change was necessary because of the unavailability of Camp Navajo.
The duration of the camp this year will be 7 days only, June 20th to June 26th. These were the only dates available for the program and will result in some instructional changes.
