As part of our volunteer services to the community and White Mountain area I offer elementary schools the opportunity to host a fun filled class to make kids aware of what takes place in an emergency, and to be prepared should one happen. We have learned that being prepared also helps take away our young people's fear of a disaster's effects. This program is Federally prepared and not only helps our young people to be less afraid but also gives the students excitement about the field of emergency management. As instructors, we all know the power a goal can have on the desire to learn and achieve.
Here at home I serve as Director of Linden Fire Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) all while also working for the Department of Homeland Security as a Disaster Specialist responding, upon request, to national disaster throughout our 50 states, as well as the territories of American Samoa and Guam, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia. My job and experiences give me the knowledge to deliver these classes with passion.
These classes can be adapted for almost any age but I have found the ages of 4th thru 6th grades are better suited to it's agenda. To schedule a class or for more info please email me at: e.packer@lindenfire.org
