WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH BATUCAXÉ THIS WEEK
It's going to be another busy weekend for Batucaxé, and we are ready! Whether you're dancing, singing, marching, clapping or enjoying life just a little bit more with us...it's ALL good!

What:            The Batucaxé Performance Group performs at Club Congress. Drama Club's debut performance opens the show!

IMPORTANT - Because of the All Souls Procession, we will not have our Afro-Brazilian dance class this Sunday, Nov. 8th. Class will resume on Nov. 15th.

Calling for Carnaval Volunteers - Batucaxé Wants YOU!
Tucson Carnaval 2010, which is presented by Batucaxé, will be on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Save the date, and take a look at this great video from Carnaval 2009 to get a taste of what's to come!

We can use and, in fact, will need the participation of many other people to help make costumes, write letters, make phone calls, etc. If you think you might be too busy to serve constantly on a committee, but are interested in helping, please contact us at info@batucaxe.org. We would appreciate your support, input and efforts, however limited it may be due to other commitments.  To put it another way, many hands make light work. This event will be more successful the more we can have your input as part of the picture. Thank you!

Saturday, November 28, 2009 - The Batucaxé Performance Group performs at Abounding Grace, 2450 S. Kolb Tucson AZ (map), the newest venue of LAVA (Live Acoustic Venue Association), 7:00-9:00pm. Admission is $10.00.

ONGOING EVENTS AND MEMBERSHIP
Every Sunday - Afro-Brazilian Dance Classes with LIVE Drumming by Batucaxé, 5:00-6:15pm at the Rhythm Industry Performance Factory 1013 S. Tyndall Ave. (map). $12 Walk-in (always welcome) or prepay $40 for 4 classes (use any time). No experience needed. For more information, email dance@batucaxe.org.

Every Tuesday - Batucaxé Drum and Dance Rehearsal, 6:30-8:30pm at the Rhythm Industry Performance Factory 1013 S. Tyndall Ave. (map). We invite you behind the scenes to see and hear what makes us love what we do. If you're thinking about becoming a member, feel free to attend a rehearsal and ask questions, or click here for more information on membership.

Batucaxé (pronounced bah-too-cah-SHEH), the winner of the 2009 Tucson Tammies Award in the World Music Category, is a non-profit drum and dance ensemble and school in Tucson, Arizona. Inspired by the music of Brazil, Batucaxé features the music of many traditions, from Brazil and all over the world. Our goal is to inspire creativity, openness, community solidarity and collective joy, through lessons and classes, outreach programs and high-energy performances.
