OOPPPS July Event

Our Annual Tea was a huge success and Royal Appointments were made on that day. It's with Grand Pleasure that I present to you...

The Queen now has not 1 but 2 yes TWO!!! Queens of Vice to help with our ever growing chapter. Lady Elaine has accepted her Royal Title of Queen of Vice Pink and Her Royal Pugnificence Helene has accepted her Royal Title of Queen of Vice Red.

We officially have a Royal Keeper of the Koins - Peggy Lady Hodge Podge has accepted this title and will care for our dues and any funds raised for our Adopt-A-Family Holiday program.

Assisting the Queen and Vice Queens and our Queens for A Day is Rose, High Duchess of Persian Paradise who has graciously accepted the Royal Title of "Duchess Ding-A-Ling". She will be making follow up calls to members for all activities to make sure they attend and know what to do/bring.

Last but certainly not least...Lady of Two Sons Kathleen has accepted the Royal Title of "Beariness Sew N Sew" and will continue to spearhead the Bunnies and Bears Sew-A-Thons for our Charity contributions.

Our members are busy little workers bees and so much is happnening and Photos will definitely be forthcoming. Three of our members, Helene, Raphaella and Sherry have formed a business "Le Rashe Baubles and Beads" and boy are they cranking out gorgeous necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches, eyeglass holders and even bracelet buddies...amazing and the best part is, not only are they making Red/Pink Hat goodies but they are making casual and evening pieces as well..Please visit with them and explore their gorgeous pieces.

As you are aware Elaine did some gorgeous T-Shirts and Sweatshirts for us for and many other chapters, even out-of-state for the Holidays and they sold like "HOT CAKES". There are more to come in a "new line" that she is creating for Pink and Red Hatters (all types of apparel. I've had the opportunity to see some of her designs and I'm saving my $$ so I can shop til I drop!!! More forthcoming.

Then we all put our thinking caps on and went Geocaching with Raphaella & Jim and with the help of Loretta's hubby Jeff and everyone had a terrific time despite the heat. We hope to do more geocaching in the cooler months..so get those GPS's ready.

In July Kathleen brought us all together for more Bunnies and Bear sewing and I hear that we surpassed our goal...how exciting - wait til Sr. MT finds out..she will be thrilled. Peggy also opend up her lovely home to our group for a fantastic Game Night and I heard everyone had a blast...(I missed out on all the fun due to illness..Ii've lots to catch up on). Raphaella was kind enough to take pictures and once I'm back to work I will get those from her and post them at the gallery.

August is here and I know you all had fun at Desser night. I hope you had some Yummies for me. On August 12th we have our road trip to Sun City for a fun Red Hat Shopping Spree so save your pennies...be prepared to Dress and bring your HATS..they take a group shot of all the chapters that visit and they post it on their website. From their we will all have lunch and head back home..we will reschedule our lampshades for another time.

September is just around the corner so I hope you all have your Red Hat PJ's ready for our PJ Breakfast/Reduation/Coronation - it's the Big 50 for me so I'm pretty excited..besides it's not everyday we get to "eat out" in our jammies...prizes for the best costume too...hope to see you there.

I also want to extend a BIG hug and thank you to Elaine for coordinating 3 sew-a-thons at her home and also thank her husband Mark for having us. It was a huge success!! All in all our chapter oudid themselves by shopping for materials, cutting, pinning, sewing, stuffing, putting eyes and noses and stitching bears and bunnies. A grand total of 54 toys were given to Sr. MT and Terry on December 1st for needy children. Thank you ALL

Our very own Honorary members Grand High Lady Poohba and La Princessita Ossa Blanca were featured in this week's (9/23/05) Red Hat Society Friday Broadcast for NHQ. If you did not see it below find the excerpt they provided...enjoy.

Queen Billie Cover, the Grand High Lady Poohba (Rose Chapeau, Tucson, Arizona) started the Pinkettes, an off-shoot of her chapter to help her daughter and her daughter’s friends learn about sisterhood and the ways women can affect the world. She says that they have been a charitable “arm” of her chapter, and are supported by her ladies. Currently the Pinkettes are holding quilting bees. Two of their quilts were sent to the Plumb Crazy Ladies, who have adopted a soldier’s family. They are also sending quilts to Lady Lost a Lot in Louisiana.

I'm excited to announce that my Cats "Anubis & Luna" are featured in a new book out June 2005 titled "Cats 24/7"! I got the news this week via email that their photo had been selected in over 50,000 entries...I was so elated. It's a small picture and my name is in the back of the book...I'm just happy that my babies got selected to appear!!! Meow!

Another Great Big Pink & Red Hat thank you to our April Queen for a Day "Rose High Duchess of Persian Paradise". It was a beauitiful day at Reid Park Zoo and everyone had a great time. We looked so specatacular that we were amusement for the zoo guests!!! Lunch at the Zoo ramada and birthday wishes to Edna our Crafty Countess (77) and Becky our Lady Sugar Shack (31). A great time was had by all.

A Great Big Thank you to March Queen For A Day Nancy - we had a spectacular time at the Tucson Arts & Craft Show.

A breakfast was held for new members who have not been able to join us in our FUNtastic events. "I just got the boxes today! Oh, what *WONDERFUL* goodies~ I cannot tell you how delighted I am!! The hats are perfect! The T-shirts are wonderful and the clothing and the extras are also divine! Your packages enabled me to finish up the favors for my ladies! The beads from the Rose Chapeau group went right into the little favor packages and there are enough beads left over so that I can make more favors as ladies join! We are SO very very blessed to have you all as Red Hat Sisters! Tell your group the Omnipotent Old Pueblo Purple Passionettes ( LOVE that name!!) and the Rose Chapeau group that your photos and cards will be the first things in our Memory Book (AKA the Casa Roll!) as we will definitely be sending photos your way!
