Welcome to Maricopa's first traditional Cub Scout Pack!
Cub Scout Pack 997 was formed in 2005 and is Chartered by the Kiwanis Club of Maricopa.Maricopa, AZ - Cub Scouting wants you! Now is the time to join the fun and excitement of America's foremost youth program for boys-Cub Scouting. Designed for boys ages 7 thru 10, Cub Scouting combines outdoor activities, sports, academics, and more in a fun and exciting program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenship, and respect. The Boy Scouts of America is composed of more than 1.27 million volunteers working together for the sole purpose of helping its more than 3 million youth succeed in life. Pichaco Peak District held their annual Pinewood Derby on Saturday, April 18th in Casa Grande. A total of 21 Cub Scouts from various Packs throughout the district raced and two of those Scouts were from our Pack, Riley C. & Ryan H., both from our Bear Den. All the boys and their families had fun racing their cars and cheering each other on. Both Riley & Ryan took home medals, Riley won 2nd place for the Bear Den level and 1st Place for the District Level and Ryan won 1st place for the Bear Den level and 2nd place for the District Level. Congratulations Riley & Ryan!!!!!!

Our Spring Campout & Webelos II Crossing Over Ceremony was on April 4-5 at Black Canyon Lake in Heber, AZ. Nineteen of our Cub Scouts and their families attended this campout. Even though it was very cold (20's over night and 50's during the day) everyone had a good time hiking, playing a game of "rattlesnake" and building a fort. Of course the highlight of the campout out was when our Webelos II Scouts was presented with their Arrow of Light and then crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 993 during the crossing over ceremony. We closed out the evening with a flag retirement ceremony where both Cub Scout Pack 997 and Boy Scout Troop 993 participated in.
We'd like thank Sean & Nora Fitzpatrick and the Wolf Den for the planning and execution of a great campout!!!!
Congratulations to our Webelos II who earned their Arrow of Light and crossed over to Boy Scouts!

Our 1st Annual Raingutter Regatta was held on Sunday, March 29th. Despite the wind that picked up during the afternoon, everyone had a great time racing their boats, having water gun fights and enjoying ice cream sundays. DEN & PACK MEETINGS - UPDATE INFO... SEE BELOW
All Den's will be meeting on Monday's @ 6:30 p.m. at the University of Arizona Agriculture Center in Maricopa (unless otherwise announced). Directions are as follows: Head East on Smith Enke Road. After 2nd stop sign continue stright on Smith Enke Road (do not worry about the no tresspassing sign, you will be entering into the University of Arizona Agriculture Center). At this point, be careful of the pot holes in the road. Continue to the 4th stop sign (this includes the 2 you have already passed). At the 4th stop sign make a left and continue down to the parking area on the left right before the stop sign. Dens will be meeting in the classrooms set up on the North side of the parking lot. ***Pack Meetings will now be held at one of the Maricopa Elementary Schools. See the calendar to find out which elementary school a particular Pack meeting is being held at.
