RED HAT SOCIETY "When I grow old, I shall wear purple, with a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me....And make up for the sobriety of my youth". Thus starts the poem by Jenny Joseph. The Red Hat Society was founded by Exalted Queen Mother Sue Ellen Cooper of Fullerton California, for women of a "certain demeanor" to meet aging head-on, with a sense of humor for where life takes us. Red Hatters are 50 and older, while those under 50 are known as pink hatters or pinkies and wear a pink hat and lavender until their REDUATION at which time they may don their red hat and purple attire.

All Red Hatters will wear a red hat at all times. They will wear purple, or an outfit that is predominately purple. Purple prints are fine. All pink hatters will wear a pink hat at all times. They will wear lavender, or an outfit that is mainly lavender.
Now here's the fun part. Glitz it up with jewelry and accessories, the more the better.

Our Chapter was granted its charter May 24, 2004 and we held our first gathering on June 24, 2004. We get together at least monthly, but have no routinely scheduled dates or places. Although our chapter is closed to new members, we love visitors and encourage you to visit us when time allows and/or the spirit moves you! Check our calendar for the next scheduled events.
