Our chapter's focus is to fulfill these needs for our members

    THE MOTOR CITY-SUN CITY CONNECTION     


    OUR CHAPTER, THE RITZY REDS LIVIN' GRAND,

    BEGAN WHEN LIFE LONG FRIENDS, PROMISED TO MAINTAIN A BOND OF FRIENDSHIP AND SISTERHOOD, REGARDLESS AS TO WHERE WE RELOCATED. AS A RESULT, SISTER RED HAT CHAPTERS WERE FORMED IN TWO STATES. THE CORE CHAPTER IS IN SUN CITY GRAND, ARIZONA AND THE SATELLITE CHAPTER IS IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN. TOGETHER OUR MEMBERSHIP TOTALS OVER 60 RED HAT LADIES.WE COMMUNICATE, SHARE IDEAS AND MEMBERS OF THE TWO CHAPTERS MEET AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR TO "SISTER SHIP". WE DECIDED THAT SINCE WE ARE ALL IN IT TOGETHER, WE MIGHT AS WELL JOIN "RED-GLOVED HANDS ACROSS THE LAND", AND GO FOR THE GUSTO TOGETHER. UNDERNEATH THE FRIVOLITY, WE SHARE A BOND OF AFFECTION, FORGED BY COMMON LIFE EXPERIENCES, AND A GENUINE ENTHUSIASM FOR WHERE EVER LIFE TAKES US. AS A CHAPTER, WE EMBRACE THE RED HAT CLICHE'

    		 OUR ROYAL PURPOSE
    The Sole Purpose of the Red Hat Society is to have FUN. We meet at least twice monthly. We also when possible attend events sponsored by other chapters, locally, regionally and nationally.

    We "sister ship" with other Red Hat chapters who embrace our motto and our purpose, and who enjoy meeting new people, having fun and enjoying life.


     
    RED HAT REGALIA
    When we attend Red Hat events, we wear Red and Purple, ALWAYS. A hat, visor, cap, bow or fluff is worn for ALL events, even if that event is in a member’s home. For our birthday month we may wear reverse colors (Purple Hat and Red Outfit) when attending an event. For all other months and RED HAT events, we wear a Red Hat and Purple outfit. WE DRESS TO IMPRESS.... We love dressing up in what we call "full regalia". . The glitz and glamour is wonderful, and oh-h so much fun! We love to accessorize with gloves, pins, scarves, bracelets, rings, feather boa's, hand fans, fancy purses. If it is available, we want to try it!

    Out of courtesy PLEASE RSVP FOR ALL events.. Always let the contact person(s) know whether you plan to attend or not - YEA OR NAY
    Communication is by e-mail. It is each member’s responsibility to read her email OFTEN for updates and in order to be informed. .
    A SUPPORTING MEMBER FES of $20.00 is collected each year in JUNE TO BE SENT TO THE RED HAT SOCIETY. THEN IN SEPTEMBER, CHAPTER DUES OF $20.00 ARE COLLECTED. This money is used for the yearly national registration fee, stamps, cards, scrapbook supplies and monthly meeting expenses.
     


    A RED HAT PRAYER......
    God grant us a wider view,
    So we see others' faults through the eyes of You;
    Teach us to judge not with hasty tongue,
    Neither the adult ... nor the young.
    Give us patience and grace to endure
    And a stronger faith so we feel secure;
    And instead of remembering, help us forget
    The irritations that caused us to fret.
    Freely forgiving for some offense
    And finding each day a rich recompense,
    In offering a friendly, helping hand
    And trying in all ways to understand,
    That all of us whoever we are ...
    Are trying to reach an unreachable star
    For the great and small ... the good and bad,
    The young and old ... the sad and glad,
    Are asking today; Is life worth living?
    And the answer is only in loving and giving;
    For only Love can make man kind
    And Kindness of Heart brings Peace of Mind,
    And by giving love we can live each year
    Lifting the clouds of hate and fear.
