Crash Statistics

Each year in the United States, red light running results in nearly 200,000 crashes, more than 800 deaths and 180,000 injuries.

The total number deaths in all motor vehicle crashes in 2008 was 37,261, which is a 10% reduction over the previous year.

Motor vehicle crashes remain the single biggest killer of Americans 3 to 36 years old. The cost to society exceeds $200 billion annually.
