is a purple dress and a big Red Hat! Welcome to our web-home, sit a spell, have some tea, and let's chat. Our Queen-Mum, Lady Patsy, began our Chapter on April 2, 2004. With three friends to encourage her; (Holly, Lela, and Sherry,) our Chapter was born. These three 'jewels' will forever have a place in the Queen-Mum's court.
Having spent our youth caring for others, it's time to care for us. We seek each other out in friendship, and help each other along the way. We dress "to the nines" and draw others to us. We cause a stir wherever we go, dressed in purple - with a red hat on our head! We give ourselves titles of Queen, Lady, Princess, & Duchess, because we ARE royalty. As Jenny Joseph wrote, it's time to make up for the "sobriety of our youth" and have some outlandish FUN.

We, members of the Red Hat Society, take to heart the poem that started it all, an inspiration to women that have lived their life according to the "rules" and now....will have NO RULES.
Have you 'gobbled up samples in the shops, worn your slippers outside.....in the rain?' Then you are well on your way to Red Hat status! If you have not done these things, start now. Sit down on the pavement when you are tired, buy those summer gloves; BUT perhaps three pounds of sausage at a go is a bit much today! We want to live a long, long time. So maybe we should forego the Jenny Joseph diet and simply learn to spit!
