Mr. Yonts, Scoutmaster

Day 1 at Geronimo!

Made it to camp by noon with our normal quick stop in Payson for lunch. Completed our swim tests and medical checks so tomorrow is a nice easy day!

All the boys are doing great and having a great time!

The internet service is horrible so pictures may be sporatic throughout the week.

Day 2 ¡V 6/19/11. Happy Fathers Day from all your sons!!!!! We are having a great day starting with French Toast, Eggs and sausage, followed by the Emergency Drill, Lunch (not as good as breakfastƒº), and our first hike for the new scouts! Take a look at the mountain peak behind all our new scouts!

Day 3 ¡V 6/20/11. First Day of Class!! Up at 5:30 (5AM tomorrow!) for breakfast, inspection (Rating of EXCELLENT!) and off to Merit Badges. The afternoon free time was spent on different activities such as swimming, canoeing, rifle range, woodcarving and even repelling! More tomorrow, including an updated photo.

Day 4 ¡V 6/21/11. POLAR BEAR! Brrrrrr!!! 7 scouts braved the early morning with the ritual of jumping in the pool (air temp 55, pool temp 70) for the polar bear swim, including several new scouts. Unfortunately, due to a cut on a finger ¡V and although not too serious, procedure and policy dictated that one scout had to return home. A special honor - part of the Cobra Patrol and Mr. Hahn were the first scouts THIS YEAR to do the challenge course 4¡¨ block balance - congrats to the Cobras (and Mr. Hahn¡¦s Chiropractor!).

Day 5 ¡V 6/22/11. Troop Swim! Mr. Yonts & Mr. Hahn conspired sneakily to get the ENTIRE TROOP to do the polar bear on Wednesday morning! 5AM EVERYONE got in the pool! After a few visitors for the day, we resumed our night with the Order of the Arrow Ceremony, campsite campfires, cookies and bed. The boys are all doing EXCELLENT ¡V some have asked to stay longer ƒº - although I think mom and dad want them home this Saturday.
