Adenoid cystic carcinoma ("ACC") is a rare cancer that usually occurs in areas of the head and neck, but can develop in other parts of the body as well. ACC is usually slow-growing, but the growth can be relentless. Patients with ACC may survive for several years, only to have the ACC reoccur at the primary site, or metastasize (spread) to other parts of the body, most commonly the lungs and liver.

CYBERKNIFE:
CyberKnife is a newer form of radiosurgery. For tumors in the area of the brain, it provides targeting accuracy without the need for a head frame. It may also be used for areas outside the brain.
