Ever thought about keeping your own cat? And no, I don't mean wild cats. Just like a cute and furry cat. If you said yes, keep on reading. And if not, go find a site about dogs or something.

Enjoying human companionship is actually a very common things for domestic cats. Regular cats found roaming the street, and trash-can dinner are known commonly as alley cats. The ones that you will find in pet stores are pedigreed cats, and have been breeded carefully.

But that doesn't mean that an alley cat has to be a bad pet. They're fine to, except you might want to check it with a vet before making it a permant family member. But whether you choose a pedigreed or alley cat, you should get it from a clean place.

Since a feline can lie down just about anywhere and snooze, a bed is not necessary. But if you would like to keep a bed for your cat, a box with a piece of a rag will be perfect.

It is very important to have a litter box for your cat's sewer stuff. It should be a pan that is about 16 sq. inches and 5 inches deep. Then fill it with a clay product called kitty litter.

You can buy these products at the supermarket or the pet store. It is a kind of dried clay that will absorb your cats waste and odor, and will only need to be changed once a week.

For exercise, you should have a scratching post(and if you don't, don't have any curtains hanging down). A lot of people think that the cat gets its claws sharpened on it. But in reality, the cat stretches its muscles when sratching it.

Raw food usually take up all space in a cat's diet. You should feed them animal organs like the kidney and possibly the liver of another animal raw. They also like a bit of cooked fish, usually in the afternoon. And you can, at bedtime, give it some egg yolk(never the white)mixed with some water.

If your female cat gives birth, the kittens will drink milk from their mother. When they are about 5 weeks old, they will enter a period called weaning time. This means it will look for more solid food. Now you should mix some baby cereal, milk, and a few drops of egg yolk. Then, at the end of the kittens nose, put one drop. The kitten will lick it up and look for more. After one week of this, you can start feeding them the same as their mother.
