Wecome to the Bakersfield, Kern & Tulare Counties Project Linus Chapter Website
Welcome to the website for Bakersfield, Kern & Tulare Counties. I am Michele Willis and I am the Chapter Coordinator for Project Linus our areas. Project Linus has been in existence nationwide for about 12 years with over 400 chapters. Our chapter in Kern County started as of December 2005. Project Linus is a 100% volunteer organization.Our mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfrot to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers". It is also is an opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities to come together for the benefit of children. Project Linus has donated more than 2,000,000 blankets worldwide.
4075 BLANKETS DONATED SINCE JANUARY 2006.
Our volunteers, known as "blanketeers", provide new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, ages 0-18.
All styles & sizes of blankets are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, crocheted or knitted afghans in child-friendly colors. Although Project Linus accepts any size quilt or afghan, I prefer not to have them smaller than 36x36. Thank You

Linus Club is **FREE** come join us and learn sewing and quilting techniques.
Linus Club will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the LDS Church on "A"
9a.m. - noon or you can meet with us at Mercy Hospital on Truxtun Ave-Clerou Room. Go through main doors of hospital & look left, there it is! 6p.m.- 9p.m.
Come join us. Bring a project or come help label and bag blankets. There is something for all to do.All blankets to benefit children of Kern County
