JAMBA JUICE
- November 16th

We are excited to bring Jamba Juice to our school. Jamba Juice smoothies will be on sale after school on November 16th which is a minimum day.

There will be 4 flavors to choose from and will be on sale for $4.00 each.

PEPSI CHALLENGE
- Every day in November

Pepsi is funding amazing ideas that refresh the world. Buena Vista Elementary School is competing in the next challenge “What gadgets does your school need?”

Pepsi is challenging us to improve our school's tech grade with e-readers, SMART Boards and online resources. Because blackboards are so 20th century!

Please help Buena Vista win a grant to improve the technology capabilities in our classrooms with document cameras and projectors in all classrooms and perhaps more computers in the classrooms as money permits. It would be amazing to make our lessons interactive, teach responsible and cautious use of the internet and all of it's capabilities to our young students growing up in the age of technology!!

Please take time EVERYDAY IN NOVEMBER to vote for Buena Vista. Spread the word to your family and friends and encourage them to help your child’s school. Voting is easy and quick.

HOLIDAY BAZAAR
- December 7, 2011 6:30PM-9:30PM

The 2nd Annual Holiday Bazaar and Craft Show will be held on December 7th in the MPR from 6:30pm-9:30pm
Local vendors and crafters will be on hand selling a variet of unique gift items. Great opportunity to connect with community members while doing some holiday shopping. We'll also have pictures with Santa and our own caramel apple bar and bake sale!

PTA Membership

PTA Membership information will be sent home at the end of August. Please take the time to fill out the form and return it to the school as soon as possible.

Members are needed to make the voice of the PTA loud and strong. Did you know that the PTA is the LARGEST NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT ADVOCATES ON BEHALF OF ALL CHILDREN??? The PTA is non partisan, non secterian, and non commercial. The PTA works hard to promote strong family and school relationships, advoacte to the local, state, and national government on issues relating to education, children's health and safety. Your membership counts! Please take a moment to lend your name to this wonderful organization. You do not need to be able to attend the PTA meetings to be a member.

Did You Know?

PTA is run exclusively by Volunteers? No member of the PTA or PTA Executive Board is paid for their time. Most have full time jobs as well as being a parent. There are so many opportunities to help in so many ways. Please just ask and we will connect you with the right task for you!

Current Volunteer Openings
The PTA currently has openings for the following positions. Please email us if you would like more information or would like to volunteer.

Reflections Chaiperson

The Reflections Chairperson would be responsible for organizing a committee and overseeing the Reflections Arts Contest for Buena Vista, which is part of the contest held by the State and National PTA each year.

Vice President Fundraising

The Vice President of Fundraising is responsible for chairing the Fundraising committee and helping to select what Fundraisers to present to the PTA for approval. Coordinates with the committee and delegates tasks to ensure the fundraisers are successful.

Hospitality Chairperson

Volunteers are needed to provide refreshments at various PTA Meetings and functions. The Chairperson works with the committee and delegates the hospitality needs to the committee members. Also can help with baking, cooking and/or buying of refreshments.

Book Fair Committee Members

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Fall Book Fair. It is a lot of fun and great to see the kids so excited about books!

Fall Harvest Festival Committee Members

Volunteers are needed to work on the Harvest Festival to plan and organize the event.
