Priority Poll Results
Our collective thanks to the 25 committee members who participated in the priority polls, which closed on October 31st, to find out what the top priorities for the committee should be for 2007.
First priority votes for each response were given a value of 5, while second and third priority votes were given values of 3 and 1, respectively, to establish rankings. The results follow in order of importance (computations can be viewed by selecting this link):
- Develop public policy statement regarding Men in Child Care for CAEYC Board to endorse and publicize.
- Fundraise and establish MiCC grants/awards/incentives for new/continuing male ECE students and/or Conference attendees.
- Establish an elected MiCC Representative position with voting privileges on CAEYC Governing Board.
- Increase CAEYC Conference Workshop Offerings and/or establish annual MiCC pre-CAEYC Conference session.
- Expand MiCC Committee membership and provide recognition to individual MiCC advocates.
- Enlist public media (e.g., PBS & NPR stations) to research and inform about MiCC issues.
- Create and publicize a MiCC Speaker's Bureau.
- Conduct ECE careers outreach program at high schools with a student public service requirement using NAEYC MiCC brochures.
- Develop website-based MiCC Resource & Referral Library to be prominently and permanently referenced in Connections/eConnections.
