PROPOSED MISSION STATEMENT

Please comment on the proposed mission statement below by sending an email.

The mission of the CAEYC Men in Child Care Committee shall be to foster open and healthy discussions regarding issues affecting men in child care, to provide guidance and support for related policy initiatives, and to develop effective strategies to equalize the acceptance, recognition, participation, retention, and professional development of men in early childhood education positions.

For purposes of comparison, the NAEYC web page relating to the Men in Educaton Network Community, which can be accessed through the NAEYC Communities link, states:

The mission of the Men in Education Community is to recruit and retain men in early childhood education by (1) communicating the importance of men working with young children and their contributions to the healthy development of children, (2) emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to recruit more men into the field, and (3) encouraging and supporting men already in the field to remain in the profession.

PROPOSED VISION STATEMENT
