"This Website was formed to promote the interests of all MacMahons, McMahons as well as other spellings of our name,and other fine families who are descended from our progenitor, "Prince Mahon O'Brien, Prince of Thomond ." Mahon, son of Murtagh Mór Ó Brien, High King of Ireland and Munster and of Thomond, Chief of the Dál gCais Clan. And are a branch off of the O'Brien pedigrees the posterity of Brian Boru. We are the only OFFICIAL MacMahon (McMahon) Clan formally registered with the Clan Registry in Ireland. You are invited, as a living MacMahon (McMahon) descendant, to visit our website, rejoin with your clan, and thus stretch your hand across the centuries and begin to know those who came before you.
The association welcomes those who have a desire of belonging to one of greatest clans from Ireland. Many MacMahons's (McMahon's) have never had contact with a branch of the association, and have little idea of our proud heritage, or how we share it amongst one another. Members of the Clan MacMahon (McMahon) Association learn of this heritage, and celebrate it in their lives.
Most association members only come together a handful of times each year, at a myriad of events, such as Irish Fairs, Scottish highland games, festivals, picnics and banquets. It cannot be stressed enough that the Clan MacMahon (McMahon) Association is not simply a group of individuals "stuck in the past." One of the association's primary goals worldwide is to find a place for our culture in both the present and the future. Whether by embracing the music of our ancestral homeland, preserving the writings and lore of our forefathers, or celebrating our Irish heritage, we are actively making a difference for the future.
Simply by visiting our website, you have expressed at the very least a "glimmer" of interest in your heritage - why not take the next step and join the association? The Clan MacMahon Association is a worldwide organization founded for the purpose of cultivating a spirit of kinship among MacMahons and descendants of Clan MacMahon; and in order to serve as the agency through which MacMahons throughout the world maintain contact with their Clan. The Association is dedicated to preserving the heritage and promoting the interests of Clan MacMahon. Clan Chapters
National branches have been established in the United Kingdom, the United States & Canada, and Australia & New Zealand. Each branch is self-supporting in finances and organization. The Chief of the Clan is Patron of all branches; and maintains contact with the branches through Clan Commissioners who are appointed by him.

News Flash To All The Irish
It has come to my attention, that an Irish Society by the name of Clan Cian, which was created by Mr. Frederick J. O'Carroll has proclaimed itself as an Irish Clan over all families and Clans in the Ely O'Carroll territory, According to their website, they claim several Irish Chiefs of the Name under them, and they have no affiliation whatsoever with Clan Cian Society or any of their affiliated organizations.
The very idea that an Irish Society claiming other Irish Surnames Clans, because they live in area to them isn't an Irish custom, but one of Scottish practice, so the Clan Cian Society must be Scottish and not Irish as it was never the custom in Ireland, the Clan Cian Society also claims they were in Scotland, So I ask other Scottish Clans in Scotland where the Clan Cian Society have made their claim in an area, to Claim them as their own, since this is the practice they wish to exercise.
