Orange Upon A Time, Club 192-F – FAQ (and
“Acronym Decoder!”)
Who are we?
We’re a regular Toastmasters club, that is, one of thousands of the world’s
premier public speaking organization, Toastmasters International (TI).
What do Toastmasters do?
We help ourselves and each other speak better in public and private settings
– job, social, family, etc. – by improving our speaking, listening,
evaluating, and thinking abilities in a friendly, mutually supportive atmosphere.
Since we know that good speakers stand out, we also teach leadership skills
to help you succeed in whatever environment or career you choose.
What makes Orange Upon A Time different?
OUAT knows that all people love stories, so we also help you build your storytelling
skills. We help you use the art of storytelling in your speeches so your listeners
will remember the points you said.
When and where do you meet?
We meet on 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursdays, 7 to 8:30 PM. We meet across the street from St. Joseph's Hospital in the Pavillion center on the 2nd floor in the meeting room to the right as soon as you exit the elevator towards the reception desk.
How much does it cost to be a member?
It’s a one-time fee of merely $20 (plus tax) for initial manuals, etc.,
and only $39 per 6 months for Club and TI dues.
What’s in that Guest Packet?
We’ve included a copy of the easy reading
Toastmasters Magazine (enjoy!), a Pamphlet summarizing the program in a little
more detail so you can better see the benefits of membership (enjoy!), and a
Member Application, which we’ll be glad to help fill in (enjoy!)
What’s the Acronym Decoder?
An introductory helper to familiarize you with some Toastmaster terminology.
What if I have more questions?
Feel free to call our President Ted Martin 714-283-2433.
