People come to us for many different reasons. Some find that they are expected to give presentations at work--and need to brush up on the basics. Some come to get over a fear of public speaking. Some are in marketing and sales--and find that their 90-second "elevator speech" is not quite elevating. Some look for affordable leadership training.

People who succeed in our program are those with a clear commitment to their own personal development and the well-being of other members.

• They prepare for and fulfill meeting assignments.
  
• They plan and complete speeches outlined in the Competent Communication manual.
  
• They plan and complete leadership development activities in the Competent Leadership manual.
  
• They provide fellow members with helpful, constructive evaluations.
  
• They help the club maintain the positive, friendly environment necessary for all members to learn and grow.
  
• They treat their fellow club members and our guests with respect and courtesy.
  
• They serve their club as an officer when called upon to do so.
  
• They adhere to the guidelines and rules for all Toastmasters educational and recognition programs.
  
• They maintain honest and highly ethical standards during the conduct of all Toastmasters activities.
  
• If they are unable to attend a meeting for which they have previously accepted responsibility for a meeting role, they contact another member who will step up to that role in a timely way.

People who succeed in our program regularly attend not only our weekly meetings, but also the semi-annual Toastmasters Leadership and Communication Education (LACE) training meetings.

They recognize that all of us are volunteers, and that to succeed, we all have to do our part.
