Welcome to our new Tiger Cub Scouts: Alexander, Blake, Cohen, Devin, Johnny, Joshua H., Kenneth, Maxwell, Nathan, Nicholas B., Nicholas S., and Ryan.

Tiger Cub is the first step of Cub Scouting and is for boys in first grade. The Tiger Cub motto is "Search, Discover, Share," and Tiger Cubs get to do all of those things: search out new activities, discover new things, and share them with others!

The first thing Tigers need to do is earn their Bobcat badge. Among other things, that means learning the Cub Scout Promise and the Law of the Pack, so be sure to practice those at home and at every den meeting!

Cub Scout Promise
I, [your name], promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my Country
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack.

Law of the Pack
The Cub Scout follows Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the pack go.
The pack helps the Cub Scout grow.
The Cub Scout gives goodwill.

Next, the Scouts will work on their Tiger Cub rank! First, they earn the Immediate Recognition Emblem by learning the Tiger Cub motto, the Cub Scout sign, and the Cub Scout salute. Next they will earn beads for their emblem by completing the five achievements: Making My Family Special, Where I Live, Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe, How I Tell It, and Let's Go Outdoors. Each of these achievements includes one family activity (white beads), one den activity (orange beads), and one go see it outing (black beads).

It is traditional (but not required) for Scouts to earn their rank by February, so that they may receive it at the annual Blue & Gold banquet. This gives them the remainder of the year to work on their Tiger Track electives (yellow beads).

For specific information about the achievements, refer to your Tiger Handbook or click on the "Tiger Resources" link to the left.
