Welcome --Are you Ready to Come Out and Play??

Which stands for D = Delightfully I = Intelligent S = Sassy O = Original R = Realistic E = Elegant R - Rowdy Fun Lovin Ladies We are a centrally located San Diego County chapter of the Red Hat Society and welcome both pink or red hat new members OUR PURPOSE: TO have fun!! Noone is under any obligation or pressure to attend.. Come when you can! We will be sure to catch you up on playing the kazoo, learning to spit, and not wearing rolled up stockings!! The Red Hat Society exists to prove there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next. We believe we all have worked hard and it is now time for us to "Play". So come join us ! It's time for Recess!! Matriarchs Unite!!

In the Beginning.... There were 2... The Divas of Disorder began when Queen Ritzy Glitzy Patti, having turned 50 a while ago, heard from a friend in Utah how much fun they were having with their newly formed RHS chapter and decided to ask her dear friend Debra to go with her to a "get together" to see what it was all about... After going, the two decided "OH Yes.. we need to form our own chapter so we can have all our friends join in the fun too" The first function was held April 3, 2005 as an informational meeting.. where 9 women all met at Queen Ritzy Glitzy Patti's house and became familiar with the RHS guidelines and were invited to join the new chapter!! After "inducting everyone and having them say their vows" they were all dubbed as Official members and showered with Magic Diva Dust by the Queen! There was much laughter and all enjoyed the official Red Hat Ding Dong Cake, along with assorted pastries, fruit and cookies and apricot champagne mimosas. Presently we have members ranging in age from 37 - 69. We all enjoy being down to earth and laughing a lot together. We have a Queen for the Month who picks where we will be going that month and she does all the arranging, planning, etc. This gives "The Queen Mother" a chance to play too!! We like to do things that are inexpensive (free is good too!!) like going to the beach, picnics, thrift shopping, craft days, etc. With a Public outing at least once every 3 months (if not sooner). Since California gals are "casual", most of our attire is reflective of that California style.. although we do like to get gussied up too sometimes!! Our meetings are on one Saturday during the month that is the most convenient for the majority of everyone.

Divafest Happenings
June 24th brought 6 of our group together for our Picnic in the Park hosted by Countess Cupcake Deb. After some joint collaborating over the BBQ ... we managed to have some outstanding burgers and brats and dogs...and a relaxing time at the new park on Adams Avenue at Kensington! JULY HOSTESS IS DUCHESS OF CELEBRATION, Vice Queen Melanie.. I suspect a pool party is in the making here!!! Hope everyone will try to make it!! Your soon to be retired Queen Ritzy Glitzy Patti!!

Queen's Royal Guidlines
There are no RULES, except one...All Divas must agree to wear a Red (or Pink under 50 y.o.) hat and purple (or lavendar) clothing with Pride and dignity! There is no excuse accepted for NOT wearing a hat,or SOMETHING that will pass for a hat!! (bow, feathers, scrunchie, etc)! If you forget yours, the Queen will provide one!!

MASCOTS
The DOD's have 3 mascots..Our Red Bear who goes home to watch over and play with the DivaQueen Hostess is called EMPRESS ELVIRA". ** Queen for the Month should bring her to the next meeting to go play with the next Queen!! Our purple Traveling gorilla baby is GORGEOUS GERTRUDE and our Pink Hatter companion is PRECIOUS PENELOPE. We love to play!! MOTTO: One for All and All for FUN!!
