A Word From the Governor
Ed Mihalka and Lucia Adams have laid a great foundation for Division H; Founders’ District’s newest Division. This is our third year in existence, and every year is another opportunity to take it to the next level. We have the opportunity as the Division leaders this year to service our Members – Clubs – Areas with a spirit of excellence. The wind is propelling us forward . . . so let’s take this opportunity and soar!
We subscribe to the 2007 - 2008 Founder's District Theme (Speak, Lead, Achieve!), as well as the Vision set forth by our District Governor as follows;
VISION STATEMENT: Every Toastmaster in Founder's District achieves an educational goal and participates in a club or district leadership opportunity; thereby achieving their speaking and leadership goals.
Our 2007 - 2008 DCP Goal Form (see section below) speaks directly to that effort, asking all of our members to take a moment to think seriously about what educational goal they will achieve this year.
We as the Division leaders want to make ourselves available to provide assistance for achieving those goals. We also want to be able to provide council if needed, to remove the mystic and trepidation that exists for some, when it comes to moving beyond the Competent Communicator (CC) level and into the advanced communications and leadership requirements.
Secondly, we will form HPL teams where needed and provide opportunities at our monthly council meetings to present modules towards earning advance awards.
Most importantly, we as Division leaders should be the first to pledge our educational goals, leading the way, and setting the course for finishing the year as a President's Distinguished Division!
