Presidents Update

A new term went into effect on July 1, 2011. On behalf of the Executive Board, I am expressing our appreciation for the support you have given us in the past couple of years. It is truly a privilege to serve you in the next four years. These are desperate times for public workers, as we are being pitted against private workers who have lost most of their health and retirement benefits in the past twenty years. Given these circumstances, it is essential that we have conversations with our counterparts in the private sector and tell them that we are in a fight to preserve these benefits for all working Americans. The trends we are facing in the USA at this time of the lowering of wages and setting aside of health and pension benefits, if continued to go unchecked, will reduce our country to that of a third world one. WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!! We need your help in reaching out to as many as we can to fight for these benefits, because our children’s and our grandchildren’s futures are at stake.
