T. Perry Wesley (left) and Jess McKay discuss plans for a Viquesney musuem in Spencer, Indania, ca. 1954.

The above photo and following article were published by T. Perry Wesley, who described the photo with this description:

"Possibly the first picture ever taken of what turned out to be the Viquesney collection in the Owen County Museum was this one, made by Richard Simons, a photographer-writer for the Indianapolis Star Magazine. It appeared in a feature which Simons did on Spencer for the Sunday magazine back in the early to mid-fifties.

Jess McKay is showing T. Perry Wesley the Doughboy statue from the collection. On the table behind him, in the old Public Service Indiana office, were 10 Viquesney pieces. Under the table is a Viquesney plaque given by the late Hattie Hyden, Elletsville antique dealer, as part of the start-up for the Viquesney collection."

Below is the story of the museum, now housed in the Owen County Courthouse.
