Books December 2002 Sexual Politics of Meat by Carol J. Adams February 2002 I Closed My Eyes, by Michele Weldon January 2002 Time To Fly Free: 'Meditations for Those Who Have Left an Abusive Relationship', by Judith R. Smith This book is the sequel to Time to Break Free: 'Meditations For the First 100 Days After Leaving an Abusive Relationship' by the same author. As a domestic abuse survivor, she truly understands the unique challenges of living after leaving an abusive relationship. The book is broken down into 366 daily meditations, and is cross-referenced by topic. This book answers the many questions I have faced in these first 6 months of my recovery from abuse. I had been looking for something more than just being free from abuse. I want to be free from the my abuser's effect on my life, well-being and future. The $15 I spent at Borders Bookstore for this book is money that will pay great dividends. It's companion book, Time to Break Free, is available for $12. Both can be ordered through the Borders/Amazon.com Website
December 2001 by Marianne Williamson The author of A Return to Love and proponent of A Course In Miracles returns to write a book 'for women who have been to hell and back' so says the preface of this stunning piece of work. Review from Chicago Sun-Times: "Marianne Williamson is blessed with the ability to get to the kernel of truth.... [she] addresses issues of the spirit with such earnestness and grace that she can convert even the most jaded of souls.... Her voice is refreshing and new." Review from Booklist: "Deeply felt.... It's clear she's been there." Review from New Times: "She puts the responsibility, glory and direction of women's lives right where it belongs--in our own hands and hearts."
