Checks In Advance Policy ![]() The Queen Proclaims Why ask for checks in advance: During your membership with RHS, you may be asked to send a check in advance of an event as your RSVP. This is because we occasionally schedule an event with a Proprietor that requires a deposit whenever a group makes reservations with his, or her establishment. This request is made to assure that the Proprietor will not lose money if we should cancel without notice . Final number given to Proprietor: After we have made the reservations and sent our deposit, we set up a time to call again, and give our final number of those attending. After that call has been made there can be no cancellations. We will be charged for the final count, whether or not all attend. Who pays for your cancellation? That means that after you have sent your check and said that you will attend. We accept your word in good faith that you plan to do so. In view of this, after the final count has been given, if, for any reason you cancel, the responsibility for payment remains with you. It is not our responsibility to pay your bill. An Emergency: We understand that an emergency may arise to alter your plans to attend the event. We are of course, sorry that this has occurred. That does not alter the responsibility of payment, however. You may wish to go to the proprietor on your own, explain to him the reasons for the failure to attend, and he may refund your moneys to you. I do not agree with the above: You may not agree with this arrangement. That is your right to do so. But in view of your decision, you would not plan to attend any event where checks are requested in advance. If you choose to attend, however, it will be understood that you have elected to attend, knowing of the no cancellation /no return policy. By submitting your check you are agreeing to the above restrictions and make null and void any previous arrangements to the contrary whether verbal or in writing .
