These manuals will help you design and track your club's membership building contests this year:

Annual Membership Program (July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008)

The rewards:

  • A unique pin is for those individuals who sponsor five new members.
  • The Gold Star pin is the reward for those sponsoring 10 new members.
  • Toastmasters necktie or scarf is given to individuals sponsoring 15 or more members.

But wait - there's more! I'm adding rewards to the pile:

  • Engraved medallion commemorating your achievement presented at the next District Conference
  • Top 10 Sponsors each quarter will receive a $25 gift certificate to Toastmasters International
How to enter:

  • This membership program begins July 1 and ends June 30.
  • All members of Toastmasters clubs are eligible and are encouraged to participate.
  • To receive credit as a sponsor your name must appear on the application for Toastmasters club membership (Form 400) along with your home club number. Please print or type information legibly. No changes will be made to the applications once they are received by World Headquarters.
  • New, dual and reinstated members count for credit; transfer and charter members do not.
  • The new member’s join date must fall within the July to June range.
Applications and payment must be postmarked no later than June 30, and received at World Headquarters by 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time July 7. Online applications must be received no later than June 30.

Smedley Award (August 1, 2007 - September 30, 2007)

October 1924 Was When it All Began
Ralph Smedley and a few men met in the Santa Ana, California, YMCA and conducted the first meeting of what would eventually evolve into what we know today as Toastmasters. One person initiated a program that would go on to affect millions of people. Will your club honor Dr. Smedley this year?

The rewards:

  • The coveted Smedley Award ribbon to display on your club's banner.
  • Choice of 1 module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series, or The Leadership Excellence Series.
But wait - there's more! I'm adding rewards to the pile:

  • $25 gift certificate to Toastmasters International
  • Engraved plaque commemorating your club's achievement
  • Both will be presented at the Fall District Conference
How to enter:

  • Your club is already entered!
  • Simply add five new, dual, or reinstated members between August 1 and September 30. Toastmasters International handles the rest!

Talk Up Toastmasters! (February 1, 2007 - March 31, 2008)

Consider conducting a special guest meeting – where you conduct a regular meeting, but also specifically discuss the benefits Toastmasters members receive as they participate in the program. Or plan an Open House, with publicity in the local papers and on cable TV. Or deliver a Speechcraft program to the local community, educating them on speech construction & delivery.

The rewards:

  • The unique "Talk Up Toastmasters!" ribbon to display on your club's banner.
  • Choice of 1 module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series, or The Leadership Excellence Series.
How to enter:

  • Add five new, dual, or reinstated members between February 1 and March 31.

Beat the Clock! (May 1, 2008 - June 30, 2008)

Finish the year with a bang! Get every club member involved. Everyone brings a guest to every meeting in May and June. Make it a contest, and recognize achievement at your club's year-end awards ceremony.

The rewards:

  • The rare "Beat the Clock!" ribbon to display on your club's banner.
  • Choice of 1 module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series, or The Leadership Excellence Series.
How to enter:

  • Add five new, dual, or reinstated members between May 1 and June 30.
