Who we are:
Happy Strays Rescue is a 501(C) 3 non profit rescue group that cares for stray, abandoned and orphaned cats and kittens. When we take in the cats, their medical needs are attended to, they are spayed or neutered, given their shots, tested for FELV/FIV, and then we begin to look for loving homes. Many times these rescues are just babies who require bottlefeeding and hand rearing. While the cats and kittens wait for their "forever homes" they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes.

We are now able to assist low-income families with spay/neuter and shots of their pets, as well as provide education about responsible pet care and the importance of sterilization. We really want to target low-income inner city areas where pet overpopulation is extreme.

We also want to be able to assist by providing pet food for families for whom this ongoing cost is a potential deterrent to pet ownership. A "pet food bank" has been created to assist with this need. See our page with a list of ways we help our neighbors and how you can help with this effort.

We are a California non- profit corporation and all donations are tax-deductible. Copy of IRS determination letter is available upon request.

Come see all our wonderful cats and kittens available for adoption every Saturday from 11 - 4 at Petco in La Canada.(475 Foothill Blvd).

PLEASE ASK FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND ANYONE LOOKING FOR A NEW COMPANION TO COME VISIT US ANY SATURDAY!

We are in need of some storage space in the local area (Altadena, Pasadena, La Crescenta/La Canada) - we have carriers, cages, tubs with supplies for our special shows, that we would like to store more securely than we have it now - but we would need easy access. If anyone has an empty office, an empty corner of a warehouse or connections with Public Storage or ??? We are a non-profit group so it could be a good tax writeoff! Thank You for any suggestions!

ABOUT OUR CATS

Some of our cats were relinquished by former owners who did not live up to their responsibility to provide a lifetime of loving care for their pets.
Some were relinquished because the owner died or is too sick to care for them.
Some of our cats are abandoned pets found mixed in colonies of feral (wild) cats and were rescued by the caretakers of the colonies.
Some were kittens born in the wild, tamed and made healthy by our dedicated foster families.
Some were kittens rescued from plastic bags and trashcans and boxes – where uncaring people had dumped them. Their medical needs are cared for and they are bottlefed in our foster homes until they are weaned.
Some were rescued from local city and county shelters where they were next on death row.
Before they came into our care – these cats had been discarded, abandoned, left to fend for themselves.
They need your love and kindness for the rest of their lives!

THANK YOU!
