About our Unit    The Las Plumas NJROTC is a class that is based in Naval curriculum. It is taught by LtCmdr Burris and Senior Chief Fevurly, both are retired Navy personell. The Las Plumas NJROTC class plays host to several teams, including the Academic team, Physical Training team, Un-Armed and Armed Drill teams and the Color Guard. The curriculum is Navy based but includes things like First Aid and Oceanography. It encourages the values of the Navy, Honor, Courage and Commitment

Drill Meet a Sucess :  Recently the Drill Team, PT teams and the Color Guard went to a Drill Meet in Milpitas. They stayed in barracks at the Army base in Dublin California. They got to eat in an actual "chow hall" and sleep in actual Army barracks. The next morning after some frantic cleaning and final preperations they were off to Milpitas. The Drill meet started out with a few suprises, especially with the unit roll call, but once the inital shock went away everyone enjoyed themselves. The drill teams, both armed and unarmed both did very well with the stars of the day being CMC Lane and CPO2 Morrissey in the Armed Drill competion, finishing 10th and 5th out of about 100 cadets. The PT team also did quite well as did the Color Guard.
