Welcome to the Website of "The Red Hatters Uptown Girls" of Upland, California. We are an Official Chapter of the Red Hat Society! Chapter #61629"What is the "Red Hat Society?"The Red Hat Society is a social organization for women 50 and over. We are - a play group for women that encourage members to take a little time out for themselves - in other words, it offers women one thing: "RECESS!"
"The Red Hatters Uptown Girls"
This Chapter was inspired by Queen Anne, her friend Stella Gary and Lynette Elton on August 29, 2005. Three years later the Red Hatter Uptown Chapter is still going strong. We are now close to celebration our Fourth Anniverar in Augst 2009.
As Queen, I encourage members to dress up in their Red Hat Regalia, so when we take Group pictures, we are all in our Red Hat Colors. Our Chapter has a planned event every month, which each member plans and a Quarterly gathering to review our itinerary and update our Calendar of Events. We enjoy holding our own private gatherings, as well as receiving invitations to outside Red Hat Events. We also include other local Red Hat Chapters to partake in our Chapter Events by extending an invitation to them. The objective is to make our gathering as fun filled as possible and enjoy our time with friends, feast on food and mingle with our Red Hat Sisters! We usually play games and have raffles at our gathering, to liberate oursleves from the everyday humdrum!
Here are a few places and events we have attended and Events we have Hosted, as a Chapter:
We have taken the Metro Link to San Juan Capistrano, attended Queen of Heart Ball and a Christmas Ball. Tea at the Dickens Festival, Tea Rooms frequented such as: Two a Tea,Glendora, Barbara's Victorian Tea House,Rancho Cucamonga, Enchanted Rose Tea Room,San Dimas, Eve's Garden Tea Room, Rancho Cucamonga, now in Claremont, Rios Tea Room, San Juan Capistrano. Have attended a few Luau's. Plays we have seen: Memo Pause the Musical, at the Grove, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Bee Hive, at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont. Invited to Magic Castle,in Hollywood, RHS Palm Springs Event,and attend the RHS Queen Mary 10th Anniversay Celebration and We Hosted two separate Red Hat Day Events at the Races at the Santa Anita Horse Race Track, in Arcadia and Hosted a Mother's Day Tea Party.

"THE HATTERS UPTOWN GIRLS" GUIDELINES: QUEEN PROCLAIMS: MEMBERS BE FUN LOVING, HAVE THERE OWN TRANSPORTATION AND WILLING TO SHARE DRIVING TO EVENTS WHEN NECESSARY. "CRITERIA" WEARING RED HAT COLORS AT ALL GATHERINGS AND EVENTS! EACH MEMBERS to provide CHAPTER WITH AN EVENT for one Month out of the year. (it's as easy as going to your favorite restaurant, Theatre to see a Play or take a day trip to San Diego OR a particular venue. EVERYONE MUST SHARES IN THE EVENT PLANNING, NO ONE PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR EVENTS. Each member is responsible for e-mailing all the information about their event, give a date deadline for members to respond, members should should respond yea or ney to person having the event ASAP AS A COURTESY. Also, hostess is responsible to give driving directions to event venue. Report to Secretary with a list of attendee's. Invitation can be sent by E-mail,Invitation by Mail and/or send a Flyer, which ever is convenient for you.
ANY MEMBER WISHING TO SPONSOR A NEW MEMBER Member must inquire with Queen prior to inviting a friend to join, to check if we are accepting new members at that time. APPLICANT TO VISIT AT LEAST TWO CHAPTER GATHERIHG AND READ OUR WEBSITE and ARE AWARE and AGREE with THESE PRESCRIBED GUIDELINES AND applicant to be APPROVED BY A MAJORITY OF CHAPTER MEMBERS.
"ATTIRE" Since we are a "Red Hat Society" chapter, your Red Hat Regalia (attire) is a purple outfit and red hat, dress it up or dress it down, as event dictates ** WHITE OR BLACK pants are fine (for summer or winter), but must wear a purple top! HATS MEMBERS MUST WEAR A RED HAT OR RED HEAD BAND TO BE DRESSED APPROPRIATELY. *NOTE When attending Movies and/or a Play(s), customary to remove your hat upon lights being turned down and/or wear a Red Head Band with Red decoration or Flower close to head (instead of Hat).
