Accredited and sponsored by United Church of Religious Science The student who completes the Foundational Class and the Spiritual Development units will have a comprehensive understanding of the core concepts of Science of Mind. She or he will be able to do Spiritual Mind Treatment for self and others, will know where our principles come from, and will have explored healing and consciousness. I. PREREQUISITE CLASSESFOUNDATIONAL CLASS Prerequisite #1 for all classes The Foundational Class is the entry-level class in the study of Science of Mind. The student is introduced to the Core Concepts of Science of Mind and is taught how to apply these Universal Principles to his/her own life. Meditation and Spiritual Mind Treatment are taught as daily practices. The class is experiential, with many guided meditations and exercises to assist students in embracing and incorporating Science of Mind principles. You will need to purchase the books, "The Science of Mind" by Ernest Holmes and "Living the Science of Mind", also by Ernest Holmes. Length of Class: 13 weeks with 1 full day workshop. Certification Hours: 45 TREATMENT AND MEDITATION: SPIRITUAL PRACTICE FOR DAILY LIVING Prerequisite #2 for all classes This class focuses on the student developing lifetime habits of meditation and Spiritual Mind Treatment. Spiritual Mind Treatment for oneself is reviewed and strengthened and then students advance to treating for other people. You will need to purchase the books, "Journey of Awakening, A Meditator's Handbook" by Ram Dass and "Can We Talk To God? " by Ernest Holmes Length of Class: 10 weeks Certification Hours: 30 II. HISTORY/PHILOSOPHY COURSESEXPLORING THE ROOTS OF SCIENCE OF MIND This class provides the student with an understanding of the historical roots in America of Ernest Holmes' philosophy. Specific emphasis will be given to the works of Thomas Troward, Emma Curtis Hopkins and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Length of Class: 10 weeks. Certification Hours: 30 THOMAS TROWARD: THE EDINBURGH LECTURES This class is designed to give the student understanding and knowledge of the principles presented in the Edinburgh lectures by Thomas Troward. Each week is devoted to a different chapter, with the core principles outlined. Students and teachers are asked to create discussion questions for the class to make the classes lively and relevant. In-class exercises expand the experience and understanding of Trowards' wisdom. Length of Class: 8 weeks. Certification Hours: 24 IGNITE YOUR LIFE WITH BIBLE WISDOM During this course, students are introduced to ways to interpret stories from the Hebrew Bible, as a foundation for understanding the teachings of Jesus. Students become familiar with the power of the parable stories as inspiration for transforming the souls. Students may be beginners in exploring the arts as tools for contemplation and meditation. Length of Class: 10-15 weeks. Certification Hours: 30-45 III. CONSCIOUSNESS COURSESPRACTICAL MYSTICISM This class is an exploration of mysticism, what it is and what it is not and provides the framework for the student to live a more mystical life in present time. Each student sets a personal intention for his or her own life. Emphasis is given to the practice of meditation and the practice of witness consciousness. This class is ideal for anyone seeking to deepen their own awareness of the divine reality of this life. Length of Class: 10 weeks. Certification Hours: 30 THE MIND/BODY CONNECTION This class is designed to give the student a greater understanding of the mind/body connection and the important role consciousness plays in the healing process. This clear, step-by-step class begins with principle, deals with the emotional issues surrounding the body, and gives emphasis to effective prayer. It also covers unlearning old concepts of duality and disease and even practical considerations such as locating health professionals who support your belief systems. This class is ideal for the beginner or the advanced student who desires a deeper understanding of physical healing. Length of Class: 8 weeks. Certification Hours: 24 IV. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONFINANCIAL FREEDOM This popular class contains in-depth material that allows the students to examine their personal belief systems and to gain a new perspective of how these are at work in their lives. Interplay of thought, emotions, desire, action, Spirit, and all facets of being work together to create a new level of well-being and abundance in the individual's life. A comprehensive workbook and creative exercises are included. Length of Class: 8 weeks. Certification Hours: 24 THE PRINCIPLES OF SUCCESSFUL LIVING This class is designed to give the student a greater understanding of his/her place in the Spiritual system and the part that consciousness plays in demonstrating good. On a very practical basis, this class offers the opportunity to set an intention for concrete demonstrations of good, and to study the tools for achieving this demonstration. Emphasis is given to use of the law, mental equivalents, spiritual mind treatment and every quality of living a spiritual life. Worksheets and a fun Oneness game make the class interactive and personally relevant. Length of Class: 8 weeks. Certification Hours: 24 SELF MASTERY: THE EMERGENCE OF THE TRUE SELF The Self Mastery class focuses on the perceived separation between personality and Spirit. Through an active exploration of the creative nature of thoughts, feelings, beliefs and emotions, the students have an opportunity to gain mastery in the art of living as a conscious, intentional being. Length of Class: 8 weeks. Certification Hours: 24 V. PROFESSIONAL STUDIESThis Two-year course prepares the student for a career as a Licensed Religious Science Practitioner. License approval is only granted to candidates who have successfully passed all examinations, completed all certificated and professional course work, and met all other requirements listed in the Practitioner code and the Educational code. PRACTITIONER STUDIES YEAR I "LIVING THE PRINCIPLES" The first year of the Professional Practitioner Studies is devoted to advancing spiritual awareness and expanding the student's understanding of his/her relation to the universe. It is designed to be whole and complete within itself, preparing the student to live life more fully, whether or not s/he chooses to continue with Practitioner II Studies, and to license as a Professional Practitioner. A The year is divided into three terms of 10 weeks each: Term 1, "How Life Gets to Be The Way It Is", based on the Law of Cause and Effect Term 2, "Living the Life of Choice", based on the Creative Process in the Individual Term 3, "Living Life Fully", devoted entirely to expansion of consciousness. Length of Class: 30 weeks. Certification Hours: 90 PRACTITIONER STUDIES YEAR II "THE LIFE OF THE PROFESSIONAL PRACTITIONER" The second year of Professional Studies focuses on the consciousness, the skills, and responsibilities of the Professional Practitioner, as well as the relationship of the Professional Practitioner to the principles we teach, to the client, to the process in healing, to the church, the community and the world. Length of Class: 30 weeks. Certification Hours: 90 PROFESSIONAL MINISTERIAL EDUCATION/HOLMES INSTITUTE The Masters of Arts in Consciousness Studies is the course of study required for individuals who desire to be licensed as Ministers with the United Church of Religious Science. Students matriculate in this program for three to five years. They graduate as spiritually expanding individuals, prepared for leadership and service in the global community. |
