As a desert mother, we know the need for a day-time support group to survive the hot summer months and to enjoy the wonderful winters in the Coachella Valley with your children.

The MOMS Club® of Palm Desert/ La Quinta North (California) could be your answer! We are here to give support and understanding to each other for the daily joys and tasks of motherhood. Our goals include providing a forum for relevant topics to mothers, engaging in activities to enrich the lives of our children, and performing service projects to benefit mothers and children.

This website will help you become familiar with all that our chapter has to offer. As a member you will receive a monthly newsletter, which will keep you informed about chapter news, events, mother issues and activities. Participate in activities; meet other moms with children of similar ages, build new friendships and much more.

All members are urged to attend the monthly Business Meeting. This is where all our members get together to discuss and vote on club issues, to plan club activities and to organize service projects. Bring the kids along and their favorite toy to share during the meeting.

We are sure you will enjoy being a member of the MOMS Club® of Palm Desert/ La Quinta North! No doubt you and your children will make many lifelong friends.

Each month, our Club puts together a calendar of day-time activities. Events are great for moms/children just to get outside the house and to be with others. This is also a great resource for those days when you're looking for something to do.

Here are some special events and monthly activities:

Pumpkin Patch, Monster Bash (Halloween), Children's Museum, Spring Fling, Fire Station Visits, Valentine's Day Party, Living Desert Day, Holiday Party, Babysitting Co-op, Walking Club, Arts-n-Crafts, Park Play, Lunch Bunch, Moms Night Out and other special tours/events of local businesses

We meet during the day, when at-home mothers most need support!

Playgroups - One of the BEST benefits of MOMS Club. We have several age appropriate groups. It's a great way for your child to play with others and moms to meet other moms.

We currently have several active playgroups which get together every other week to play at member houses, parks, or other places. Each group usually has 4-8 moms plus their children.

Our playgroups are set up by the ages of the primary children involved, ranging from babies to 5 years old and older. Siblings are always welcomed.

This is a great way to meet other moms with kids the same age, on the same schedule and to share stories & solutions, to find a listening ear to bounce your challenges & to celebrate your successes and to have laugh while your children play.

We are committed to providing support to our community and beyond. We have several service projects which we perform each year, both as on-going and one-time projects. Examples of our past or current service projects are:

- Monthly visits to a local nursing home: Seniors who live in nursing homes often love to see and interact with the energy and innocence of young ones. By visiting with older adults, you can teach children early to appreciate and respect age differences!

- Food, Clothing & Toy Drives to teach our children about giving

- Yearly projects which benefit the community or children/mothers in need (i.e Park Cover Fundraiser, Pre-school fair, Fundraiser for an ill member or family member with financial challenges, etc.)

- We also offer member support in ways such as providing meals for families in need and babysitting assistance which are coordinated through our Helping Hands Committees

PRESIDENT: Presides over the monthly meetings, acts as liaison with other organizations and the community; acts as a liaison between the local MOMS Club and the MOMS Club Int'l.

ADMINISTRATIVE VICE-PRESIDENT:Assists the President in fulfilling her duties; assumes the duties of the President when she is not available; coordinates the service projects and speakers for the meetings.

MEMBERSHIP VICE-PRESIDENT: Promotes membership in the group; publicizes the MOMS Club® of Palm Desert/North La Quinta within the community, and coordinates such publicity with the President who is the Club's liaison within the community. Interested in joining? Contact her @ vp4momsclub@yahoo.com

SECRETARY: Takes minutes of the monthly meetings, keeping those minutes in a notebook that can be viewed by all members; updates member roster and mails out information to the public and members as needed.

TREASURER: Responsible for all funds of the club; deposits all such funds in the name of the club in the bank; maintains financial records, keeping all records available to be reviewed by all members.

The Executive Board cannot run the club alone. We have many members who volunteer as activity leaders and committee members. These volunteers help organize monthly events, special events and other aspects of the MOMS Club® of Palm Desert/ La Quinta North
