(2) will be added to BLACK ORCHIDS, (4) to be added to JAZZ' QUEENS & (9) being added to HARMONY DIVAS,being approved by the OFFICIAL Founder Only!, starting in September 2008! To all interested positive, focused & self-motivated ladies of like-mind, that enjoys stage plays, high teas, shopping,traveling, parades, music, movies, poetry, dining out, fashion shows, outdoor festivals, gardening, casino excursions, picnics, barbecues, rodeos, reading, arts, crafts & other fun events may JOIN now but... MISSION STATEMENT!
An Official chapter of the RED HAT SOCIETY
Eastbay members of the Black Orchids, Oakland, CA.
Our purpose is listed as follows:
Continue to be FOCUSED on women related issues of importance to us
Strive to bring UNITY amongst our RHS sisterhood
Help to provide a strong SUPPORTIVE base to RHS ladies,locally & in other communities
Has abilities to share our INDIVIDUALITY by creative expression with others
Be willing to participate as freely & as FREQUENTLY as we personally feel neccessary
Assist in planning ASPECTS of monthly chapter events & group related affairs
Encourage official members to attend MAJORITY of activities,economically affordable, non-conflicting & of interest to them
Display a positive attitude ALWAYS when conducting business in any meeting sessions
Enjoy a VARIETY of scheduled gatherings as a relaxed & mature womens' group
Hope of living our life to the FULLEST extent possible

humor & elan.

the comedy relief of life,

forged by common life experiences,and a genuine enthusiasm for where-ever life takes us next!

A poet put it very well,
she said when she was older,
she wouldn't be so meek and mild,she threatened to get bolder.
She'd put a RED hat on her head,and PURPLE on her shoulder,she'd make her life a warmer place,her "GOLDEN years" much golder.

These colors are strictly MANDATORY @ All
events,meetings,socials or gatherings unless
our QM states OR decides Otherwise!
And most IMPORTANT of all,its'
Mandatory as a respected courtesy to the QM or
any Hostess that has extended an invitation to us,
that all chapter members MUST R.S.V.P.,to each & every
meeting or event that you are aware of.
This is whether you are OR are NOT attending!!

Where Is The MAGNIFYING Glass?

When I am an old woman I shall wear PURPLE
With a RED hat that doesn't go,and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy & summer gloves
And satin sandals,and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickles for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old,and start to wear PURPLE.
