Welcome to the Red Hot Rubies
  

We are the Red Hot Rubies from North Central California and our rural town of Linden. Each of our ladies is a Queen in her own right.Its so nice of you to come and visit us and we extend a welcome cup of cheer to greet you. We hope you enjoy your stay. We are a 'somewhat' quiet country group of ladies here in Linden, HOWEVER, once we don our Red & Purple attire for our Red Hat adventures, beware-----the country air gets a bit silly!

We are official members of the Red Hat Society, #45564.


 
FUN AFTER FIFTY
  The Red Hat Society is where there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Sooooo . . . . to interested ladies---who enjoy movies, arts, stage plays, high teas, and low teas, shopping, traveling, parades, music, poetry, dining out, fashion shows, outdoor festivals, gardening, reading, picnics & barbecues, antiquing, eating and oh so many other fun events, and did I say eating, come join us.

We do a variety of things as listed above but its the fun friendships that are so much more precious to each of us.

Sooooo . . . . once again to interested ladies do join us and share with us your life's journey. Our circle of friends is never ending and its a joy to share this bumpy road of life with all its ups and downs with our royal attired purple and red ladies. And don't forget, that circle includes those pink and lavender gals as well.

This is IMPORTANT, its' Mandatory as a respected courtesy to the Queen Host or any Hostess that has extended an invitation to us, that all chapter members MUST R.S.V.P. to each & every meeting or event that you are aware of. This is whether you attend OR are NOT attending!!

Ladies 50 – 100+ yrs. young
MUST wear the colors: PURPLE clothing & your magnificent RED hat.We encourage ALL interested women 50-100+ yrs. young to become Red Hatters & those between 25-49 yrs. young may be a Pink Hat member!

Our So-So Rules

If you have suggestions for ideas and changes, please bring them up to the group at our business meeting, held on the 1st Friday of every month at 11:30 AM as a potluck meeting (check schedule for meeting place). Everyone’s opinion is of value


Here goes:

  • 1. Chapter registration is $39.00 & due in October--it is suggested that each member pays $5.00 for the year to help cover this cost. Any amount over this would go into the general treasury of the group. You can give our treasurer, your fee.

  • 2. Current contact person with the registration/Red Hat web site, newsletter, etc., is Mary Reynolds. If anyone else would like to do this, please let her know.

  • 3. If you are carpooling with anyone it is suggested that you contribute anywhere from $5 & up due to the high gas prices now--to the driver to help fray gasoline, wear & tear on the vehicles, etc. The driver can choose to keep all of this or if she wishes, she may contribute any portion of the funds to our group's "kitty". The choice will be entirely up to the driver. No questions asked.

  • 4. There will be a Drawing at each of our monthly gatherings. The suggested amount is $1.00 per person. You do NOT have to participate--again the choice is yours. We hope to eventually have enough to pay for a special luncheon/outing for all of us.

  • 5. It is asked that each of us take a turn to be the Hostess for one month. You may ask for a co-host to help you. You both would be the Queen Mums for that month. You would need to set up the event (place, date, check cost, any special things to know, RSVP's & notifications to everyone). You can choose to notify the group members of the event by telephone or mail out flyers or give a flyer/postcard at the event PRIOR to yours. If you choose to mail out your information, it is asked that you cover those costs. This will keep our expenditures to the very minimum and more funds for that special event.

  • 6. Those that need a ride, PLEASE let Mary or the hostess of the month, know as soon as possible. OR, if you have a group that you ride with, please keep in touch with each other. We are hoping that we can get as many people involved as possible.

  • 7. Hopefully, events and dates of events will be varied. There may be more walking with some trips than others. If you are unable to participate in the month’s event for whatever the reason, please let the hostess for the month know this. Often we must make reservations and a RSVP is a must. Sometimes we just cannot attend all things. Remember, variety is the spice of life!

    We have been very blessed in our group but know that things do happen. A member may find herself in the hospital or simply in need of prayer support during a difficult time. This page is devoted for just that.

    Here is how it works. If we know of one of our ladies (or a member of their family) that is in the hospital or just under the weather we will post that (with their permission of course) on the web page. Then if you would like to send a card &/or email, you may do so. Other than my address, your address will never be posted on this web site. If you know of a member in distress, please let me know either via email or by phone.
