The Secretary’s Report Jeffrey Roberto, Secretary

What a great event at Casa de Guadalajara with Chef Jose, always a good turn out for him. Chef Jose always comes through each year to support the Association, thanks again Chef. And thanks for Seaport for bringing some of the appetizers, always good to have vendors help and support with the food each meeting. Swearing in more students to the association brings our student total to over 25. Most ever in the Association. Wow, what an amazing opportunity the Chefs de Cuisine has next year, the San Diego County Fair. The theme is food and what a great way to do food is with Chefs doing; Food exhibitions, food seminars, food tastings and of course food competitions. We would like everyone’s ideas to come up with over 20 food-related concepts. Please submit to the board any ideas. This will give Chefs de Cuisine a community view of what we are about, helping students move forward through our educational funds. This all started because of last year’s helping the fair do some food seminars during their International Beer Festival. November is a big month for the Association as we have our elections at Mesa College. And the students this year will create a menu and serve us dinner. What a great idea to see the students in action at all roles of the kitchen and restaurant setting.
