The Menu

Salad

Wonton Tulip filled with petite mixed greens, garnished with yellow and red tomatoes, gorgonzola and candied walnuts, with a balsamic raspberry glaze

Entree

Breast of Chicken St. Tropez. Stuffed with sundried tomatoes, feta cheese and arugula and topped with beurre blanc sauce. Served with petite vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes.

Dessert

Cappuccino Cake with Chocolate Sauce

President's Message for May 

Hello everyone, I’m back from the ACF Western Regional in Salt Lake City Utah. A very nice city, cold but very pleasant. I’ve been told that I missed a great General Meeting. Thank you to everyone who attended, your support as always is outstanding.

This was one of the best-attended meetings of the year. It was also our first time at Casa de Pico and Executive Chef Aida Elbers and her staff did an outstanding job. The wait staff was also excellent and I hope we will have many more general meetings there. I want to thank Vice-President David Chenelle and the rest of the Board of Directors for filling in for me at the dinner. We are blessed with a great Board that always steps up to do what ever is necessary.

Our next general meeting will be in Old Town at the Marriott Courtyard with our old friend Executive Chef Raul Hernandez. Raul was up the coast for a short time but now has returned to his San Diego roots. Welcome back, Raul and thank you for hosting our next meeting. I believe that Raul over the years has hosted more general meetings then any one in our association. Nice job Raul. If you have had the good fortune to attend one of Raul’s dinners, you won’t miss this one. Remember to invite another professional to attend this meeting with you. We want to make sure and keep our association growing and part of that is attracting new members.

Please remember our book exchange. Drop off a new or used cookbook and pick one up. Remember this is always a free service whether you take or drop off a book. Your support of the cookbook exchange is very welcome. I hope you get a book that you’ve been looking for or share a favorite cookbook of yours with some one else.

One last pitch, we are having one of our best years for the opportunity drawing. This is a fundraiser where we get to keep all the money that is raised. Thank you for supporting our opportunity drawing by either buying tickets or donating prizes, we cannot do it without your support.
