| President's Message for November
Hello, everyone. We had a wonderful time at Casa de Guadalajara in Old Town. Executive Chef Jose Duran and the staff did a great job. We always have such a good time and the weather was just right for outside dinning. I hope you were able to make this general meeting. We also had the good experience of swearing in five new Junior Members. This now gives us over thirty new Junior Members with more to come. I believe this is a great start for the coming future of our Association. These young Culinarians will be the future and hopefully will keep the San Diego Chefs’ Association growing and leading the way in food service. We also have several new Chefs memberships pending board approval. If you know of any one that would like to become a member of our growing Association, please have them or yourself contact any Officer or Member of the Board of Directors. We would love to have them join us and be part of this great organization. David Chenelle, Jeffery Roberto, Kevin Michaels and I were the team to pay off our Associations Dinner bid for charity. It was for ten guests and David and Jeffery will have more in their reports. I will say it was great working with these guys and everyone really stepped up when it was needed. The hosts were very happy and made us feel that their dinner was a huge success. Please make an effort to make next month’s General Meeting at Mesa College. They have been doing an excellent job with setting up parking for our group. Also, the Mesa Culinary staff under the direction of Instructor Robert Reid, CEC, will be serving an excellent dinner. I hope to see you there. At December’s General Meeting, held at the Holiday Inn on the Bay, we will be honoring two long time members with lifetime achievement awards. The honorees are Joaquin Cueva and Jerry Dollar. I hope you will mark your calendar for December the 20th (Sunday) at the Holiday Inn on the Bay and help us honor two long time outstanding members. We have some very exciting news about our Association and next year’s San Diego County Fair. Be sure to read Vice-President David Chenelle’s report for all the details. Remember to invite a new Chef or Purveyor to our next general meeting. Thank you for all that you do to help us make this outstanding Chefs’ Association.
