Who we are.           We are an Advanced Club. A new member needs to be a "CC" (Competent Communicator), have equivalent public speaking experience or be voted in, as a special exception, by a quorum of the club's members.
Our regular meeting format is a little different than most Toastmasters Clubs. We have the formal speeches first with evaluations. Then, after a break, the more informal table topics session. The following are special features of our club:
1. We usually meet in the Games Room on the second floor of the Atria Community Center at 1 Witherspoon in Irvine at 8:30AM on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday mornings. We have a flip chart with accompanying easel to help speakers with their presentations.
2. We can allocate time for people to give longer speeches.
3. We offer immediate round robin evaluations by club members followed by a final, formal evaluation.
4. We can supply help with set up and arrangement of special props, speech enhancements, etc.
5. Special Saturday meeting time. We are the only club, that we are aware of, that meets on a Saturday morning.
We meet on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of every month. Our meetings start at 8:30 AM and end promptly at 10:30 AM.

Where we meet.

We meet at the Atria Community Center at 1 Whitherspoon in the City of Irvine. For the upcoming meetings scheduled for September we will meet in the Entertainment Room on the second floor. Ample parking is available outside. You can hit the "Excite Map" button below for a map.

Visitors are always welcome.

At 9:30am on December 15th, we will have our Christmas Party at the Neal's home in Orange.

History
The club was first chartered as Second Stage Toastmasters in December 1988 and we still have two of the original members Bill Neal and Harvey Mayo. The club has always been an advanced club. On December 14th, 2007 we began our 20th year.

Thought for the Month

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them. -- George Bernard Shaw .

  Manual Speeches
Every time you give a speech at a Toastmasters meeting it should be a manual speech. There are a lot of Toastmaster veterans who have completed many advanced manuals and earned a CC or an AC simply by keeping this in mind.
