SECOND STAGE TOASTMASTERS - CLUB# 3742

Who we are. Our club is for speakers who have achieved their Competent Communicator Award or who have outside speaking experience. We welcome guests to see how we conduct meetings and experience our round robin evaluations. Our two hour format allows members to practice longer speeches from the Advanced Manuals. We recently had a member practice a one hour presentation on Story Telling.

Where we meet.

We meet at the Atria Community Center at 1 Witherspoon in the City of Irvine. For the upcoming meetings scheduled for 2011, we will meet in the Entertainment Room on the second floor. After you sign in at the front desk, the attendant can direct you to the elevator. Ample parking is available outside. You can hit the "Excite Map" button below for a map.

This year on July 30, 2011, we held our 17th Annual Picnic. We had a regular meeting of Speeches, Evaluations and Table Topics, along with a BBQ hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs and pot luck dishes brought by the members. We had several visitors who enjoyed the weather and festivities.

History
The club was formed as Second Stage Toastmasters in December 1988 by leaders in Founders District. We still have three of the original members: Shirley Kunkel, Harvey Mayo and Bill Neal. The club was founded to help our members be effective leaders within Founders District. In December 2011 we begin our 24th year.

Manual Speeches
Each time we give a speech at our meeting it should be from one of the many Toastmaster manuals. Many Toastmaster veterans have completed manuals and earned another Competent Communicator or Advanced Communicator award simply by keeping this in mind.
