Every meeting has a table topic theme and a word of the day. The table topic theme serves as a the basis for the impromptu question and answer portion of the meeting. The word of the day is created to challenge the members to use that particular word in the table topic answer.

The following schedule is an example of a typical meeting.

8:15 Refreshments

9:30 Call to order by President

(Invocation)

Flag Salute

(Thought of the Day)

Business meeting: New and unfinished business

Welcome guests and explain nature of advanced club

8:45 Toastmaster

Introduction of Participants; Corrections to Agenda

  • General Evaluator
  • Assign Evaluators
  • Timekeeper

8:50 Begin Formal Speaking Portion of the Agenda. Number of speakers will depend upon the length of each speech, and how many speakers have signed up. The club meeting time allows for up to four speakers to speak during the meeting. Each speaker will provide the following information beforehand:

  • Speaker's name
  • Title of the speech
  • Speech Number (this is in regards to the speaker's individual goal. For example, if the speaker is giving his third speech to earn his ATM-Silver, this would be speech number 3.)
  • Manual (name of advanced manual)
  • Objective (each manual speech has a pre-set objective)
  • Time (length of speech)

General Evaluator: Round Robin, and Formal Evaluation. Each speech is given a round robin and a formal evaluation.

9:40 Break/Refreshments

9:50 Topicmaster - presents table topic questions

10:10 General Evaluator

10:20 Toastmaster’s final remarks

10:25 President’s comments, followed by

  • Invitation for Guests’ comments
  • Confirmation of duties - next meeting
  • Assignment of "we missed you" phone calls

10:30 Adjournment
