 About the Club

MEMBERSHIP
Annual membership dues are $25. Upon joining our club, you will automatically become a member of the Southern California Mothers of Twins Club (SCMOTC) and the National Organization for Mothers of Twince Club (NOMOTC). The following paragraphs include all the details of membership.
We hope you decide to join us. If so, please click on "Join the Club" to the left for more details.
MEETINGS
Monthly General Meetings are held at a member’s home on the first Monday evening of each month. The goal of this meeting is to primarily allow members time to get to know eachother through activities and socialization. Business is kept to a minimum. Minutes from the business meeting are approved, general announcements are made and when applicable, we install new members and vote on outstanding issues.
The Business Meetings are held on the third Monday evening of the month, usually at a local restaurant. All members are welcome and are encouraged to attend if they wish to have a voice in the discussions held by the board.
MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
SVMOTTC’s monthly newsletter, “Double Talk”, is written by and for our members. In it you will find information about our meetings, social activities, member news, and columns that address special interests. The “Double Talk” newsletter is published and distributed the last week of each month.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Our club has a very active calendar. Following are some examples of our events.
For MOM's... movie nights, pedicures, meet for drinks, Member's Getaway Day, Ensenada cruises.
For Kids/Family... regular play days at local parks or homes, trips to local attractions, Family BBQ's, and Holiday Parties. Many of us have children who have bonded from a very young age.
For Adults... Whether you are single or married... game nights, progressive dinners, wine tasting, date nights.
We also have several informal Mini Groups that meet. This enables members who enjoy common interests, or have similar schedules to meet and enjoy their time together.
PHILANTHROPY & FUNDRAISING
The SVMOTTC prides itself on providing support, not only to our own membership, but to related and/or local organizations as well. In order to provide this support, we have fundraising programs throughout the year. Examples are: See's Candy, Scrip, Studio Audience Participation, Craft or Garage Sales etc. We contribute at least $100 of every $500 of our fundraising to philanthropic causes every year.
EDUCATION
Members may borrow them free of charge. Our education is further enhanced by a variety of professional speakers.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE
Clothing exchanges are held periodically at our monthly General Meetings. Members may buy, sell, or exchange clothing and equipment. Items for sale or needed can be advertised free of charge in our monthly newsletter, or on our Members Only Facebook page.
SUNSHINE
SVMOTTC brings the warmth of sunshine to any member who is in need of our help. We do this in the spirit of friendship. This typically means bringing meals, running errands or helping with children for members who are ill, on bedrest or welcoming a new baby.
BIG SISTER PROGRAM
It is our goal to make every new member feel welcome and to provide them with the support they need. Depending on membership needs, we may institute a formal Big Sister Program, but more often we find that by encouraging new members to become involved in social occasions, they will form friendships and a support network more easily with other members.
